I’m glad I don’t because the need to smack them upside the head and call them an idiot would be almost impossible to ignore.
She has basically been shut down by anyone who jas actually read the Koran.
Which is very common in the Army.

Hell, she breaks just about every rule of the religion

Scarily realistic.

Heartwarmingly realistic.

The fact that people are falling for such pathetic propaganda genuinely disturbs, disgusts and depresses me.

Ah, you retained hope for the intellectual capacities of the great masses! That is always a mistake. The great majority believe whatever opinion they last heard expressed with some degree of conviction, within the cadre of thought that they've been indoctrinated to consider "acceptable".

They will not awaken, they will not grow wise. The only thing that will change these things is the gradual and inexorable shifting of the Overton Window.

If you think that Earth is where God is going to establish his new kingdom, I don't know how to convince you. All I can say is God will not come to save the physical world. He will destroy it in a fire where all of man's achievements and dreams will be burned to ash heat, reality itself is going to be rolled like a scroll. After which comes the judgment where those that remain will be judged and parted to the right and to the left.

Like I said I can't convince you. I can only hope that you don't lose your faith in God when your expectations blow up in your face.
Umm for me it doesen't matter God will make everything good and create paradise. For me it doesen't matter if we are in heaven or a new earth. I just hope you retain your optimism if God doesen't destroy everything and just remakes stuff.

Or you study to show yourself approved and seek your own salvation with fear and trembling so that when you see corruption in the church you can correct it.
One man by himself is not the Church though? Like there is nothing wrong with monasticism or being a hermit. But to look at logically do you believe that God will let Christianity die like the belief in the Ancient Greek gods will die?

So let's use Arianism as an eample. If someone just read the Bible on their own and believed that the holy spirit interpreted it for them that Jesus is not God and was a created being. Do you think that has a chance of being true? God let's Arianism die in 330 AD, but then the Jehova's witnesses in the 1900's remade it. God let the truth die for 1600 years?

Your assumption that said priests have any authority to issue salvation and or the monopoly on the knowledge of how to reach salvation. Is simply your assumption and in no way back by any scripture it's entirely possible that the priests are lying or misinterpreting what God said
Jesus did not give us a Bible, he gave us a Chruch. It is the Church that gave us the Bible. The Church is closer to Christ than the Bible, since the Bible is seperated from God, by being created by the Church while the Church was made by God himself. Also assuming you are Protestant you don't even have the full Bible, you are missing stories about God that teach justice and warn against idolotry and are good for your knowledge and edification like Susannah and the two elders, or Bel and the Dragon.

And why would we need to restore a relationship with God if it wasn't for the fact that our sin condemns us to Hell? It amazes me how hardly any Christian denomination talks about the judgment that all of the accountable age will be made to answer to. Everything is about how it affects society. The question is whether we will be counted among loyal children or among the demons who rebelled against God?
This. Today's society is a passing thing. Deck chairs on the Titanic.
The world to come is what matters.
Why do you think God is so stingy that he will only give you eternal life with him(it is the best gift, but God will give you more. He will give community, and stability as well)

So it's not a choice between a good society and being saved. We can have both.

Not nearly as much as I once did.

That is depressingly what I’ve started to lean towards.

That is depressingly what I’ve started to lean towards.

It's not that depressing, when you consider the full implications.

As the story goes:

The king called his magi to him, and asked of them to craft him a thing that would make him sad when he was happy, and happy when he was sad. And so they pondered, and they toiled, and at long last returned to him with a simple ring, upon which were inscribed the words--

This, too, shall pass.

So even though it takes a long time, and you can't substantially hasten the improvement of affairs, nothing lasts forever. Nothing good, and nothing bad. That is the cautious consolation of our philosophy.

Is this true? I know I stopped hearing about the Ozone Layer being depleted.

F_OMAcHWMAA-bP7
Ozone layer recovery is on track, helping avoid global warming by 0.5°C.
if current policies remain in place, the ozone layer is expected to recover to 1980 values (before the appearance of the ozone hole) by around 2066 over the Antarctic, by 2045 over the Arctic and by 2040 for the rest of the world. Variations in the size of the Antarctic ozone hole, particularly between 2019 and 2021, were driven largely by meteorological conditions. Nevertheless, the Antarctic ozone hole has been slowly improving in area and depth since the year 2000.
yes

Thank goodness. Nice to report an ecological win or whatever. What really struck me was the lack of OTC Asthma inhalers due to CFC's and supposedly pharmaceutical companies couldn't come up with an alternative propellant or whatever. Situation lased for years. :cautious:

The patent for CFC's was due to expire soon, so the company that owned said patent financed a study on the Ozone effects. Now a replacement chemical has been patented by the same company, so the crisis is over.

Ozone gets formed in the upper atmosphere by the interaction of Oxygen with ultraviolet light. It's not as if it can only happen up there - that's just were most of the UV gets absorbed.

Eh if what you speak is true, worst-case scenario I'm simply not part of the rueling class in the new eternal earth which is just fine with me. if the parable of the prodigal son is anything to go by then the lowest servant in Heaven will still far better than anything we currently have on earth. I say to you likewise I hope you do not lose your faith in God even if the Orthodox church falls to wokeness.

The truth will always be there whether the masses follow or not is beside the point. When God destroyed the world in flood all but Noah's family was lost. Yet they were still counted despite being so few, and they reshaped the earth. There were many times when Isreal turned away from the truth only to repent (And fall away again, but that's another issue.
