And some retarded Communist tweeted this smooth-brained take, I don't think I've actually seen something this stupid in quite a while:

Think of all the smug annoying little shitlib snots that honest normal people would love to grab and beat to death. Imagine there were no laws against it....

I tend to think of myself as a tribal warrior, with a begrudging critical respect for empires and nation-states, because only the dishonest deny their inherently primal human tendency toward tribalism and territorialism. It's normal and healthy to love and defend your country and home.

Leftists and neoliberals are a unique brain-damage of the normal thinking human, one far-left and the other far-right, one representing community over individual and the other individual over community. Both horseshoe extremes of the same mental illness.

I see this sort of thing as needing sane balance, while bad things happen when people go to idiotic extremes.
It is natural, and normal, to personally care more about one's own close family, one's own faith community, one's own fellow-countrymen, than about complete strangers on the other side of the world.
Which is to say: it is normal to care more about people you actually see and interact with in real life than about people who are just words.

Take that basic natural care-for-one's-family instinct and turn it into an ideology, and you get something toxic, something akin to the collective mindset of some Stone-Age tribe in a jungle that regards only members of said tribe as actual people, and all outsiders as enemies to be killed and eaten.

Go the other direction? Where you go is to "I don't value my own children any more than I value the rest of humanity! Why aren't we all sending all our wealth to feed the starving children in (insert place most people could not find on the map)? How can you be so selfish as to want a roof over your own head!"
No, such people do not really care about "all humanity". Each such person is an ingroup of one. They are simply taking their own lack of natural humanity, and pretending it's a virtue.

And of course we get the people who preach universal love of humanity at you, while themselves being totally on the side of their own group - what's theirs is theirs - and what is yours should also be theirs. Gib!

So - sanity. Everyone loves their own children more than other people's children. If you don't, there is something badly wrong with you. But everyone should accept that other people have just as much right to love their children as you have to love yours.

Something a little more positive, always love seeing a lefty (Vaush) and a righty (Alex Jones) come together to give some betacuck cringe loser Nazis a good ole fashion internet beatdown:

The second one must be parody... even chimpanzees have some form of retaliation when they "perceive" any wrongdoing, like all the the mauling of them towards humans and the chimp wars in the 1970s.

Some of those people will support lunatic positions just for the brain-chemical rush of how good they feel being that extreme. Practical considerations have zero to do with it.

What an edgelord. No wonder he shot himself. People with such childish ideas of strength can never cope with moments of weakness.
Why is this a childish idea of strength?
This is exemplified by the amount of hate posting that happens online. All those weak people now get to be completely anonymous and without fear of reprisal. So they're impolite to a level they'd never be in public. Often, when this behavior does happen in public, they get their ass beat.
Every Rocket Scientist is aware of the first rule:
"You can make a brick fly if you give it enough thrust."

...who is the Gru in this situation?

Because only children or savages think that politeness is simply a function of fear. That the only way civility can exist is under threat of force.

It's because that is true for them, of course. As we saw in the Middle-Eastern wars or the second World War, some cultures are incapable of peaceful interaction. Those cultures tend to be doomed to defeat in war at worst or ruling over ashes at best. And children naturally aren't developed enough to understand any social interactions that don't derive from the authority of parents or teachers. Failure to show that authority leads to impudent children.

But civilized men? Adults? We understand that civility is something you extend not because you fear the other person, but because that's just the most logical way to interact if you want to get things done. That's why we can have civilian supremacy over the military, and societies that aren't ruled by the biggest gangster in town.

TL;DR: Normal interactions between adults aren't driven by fear of violence, that's only true in dysfunctional societies.

And yet, we see that some people are in fact very impolite. Because not only the threat of getting punched in the face for being rude is absent, but so are all the other things you believe make people polite.
While it may please you to preen yourself as being morally superior to people are polite only out of fear, that does not remove such people from existence.

You didn't answer my question. Who's the Gru in that meme of yours?
<Looks around at our current society>

Umm... I've got some bad news for you.
It's not news to me. We are slowly evolving into the sort of society where that will be the only way to have civility, unless law and order is reestablished.

This is only true because we civilize our children before they become adults.
We aren't doing that. We're refusing structure and discipline as a society.
When that happens, you have to resort to discipline of the adults in order to reform society.
