Same here. The far left loves to stage these sort of events to gain more sympathy points and attention- see the various claims of Trump supporters attacking blacks or Muslims or the various drawings of swastikas that were all later discovered to be fake.

I started looking into the NASCAR thing a bit closer since it has been a long time since I cared about stock cars driving an oval a hundred times. Reading between the lines NASCAR is bleeding fans and wants to try and expand its marketability. In doing so it's performing the tired old move of tossing its core base under the bus to be more attractive to outsiders.
The issue with Darrell "I'm totally not aping a southern stereotype name" Wallace is that he's the only full-time African American driver in the sport and less than two days after demanding that NASCAR ban the flag they did so. Needless to say, all those horrible, horrible people that pay him to play the sport he loves had an adverse reaction and he's making a big deal about not being able to interact with the crowds after the race the way he used to. Funny how people get irate when you waltz into their cultural space and piss in their Wheaties isn't is Darrell.
As for the noose thing, I give it 50/50 chance of being real or fake. Mr. Wallace and I assume his support staff are BLM idiots and I could see them trying to milk this while the iron is hot, but he did also just shit directly on NASCARs core fanbase and there's no shortage of idiots that would take umbrage at all that. So let's wait and see and hope the investigators are at least as honest as the Chicago police.
I'm putting $10 on its being fake though. The BLM types are really obsessed with nooses because they think lynching was a solely anti-black thing.

Yeah, I had the exact same reasoning. I am cautiously open to the possibility of it being real, for the reasons you mentioned, but it's probably fake. No damage was done to any of the racing equipement, no spray painting, no damage done to the dude. It looks like the sort of thing that someone would try to pull that would look bad but require no personal effort or commitment.

The downhill trend started years ago, my grandmother is a big racing fan and she complained about how one of the major racetracks in Indiana got inherited by daughters of the previous owner that weren't part of the culture and started to push some bullshit or tried to get rid of a brother who was part of the culture. I can't remember exactly what.
But a consistent trend is major institutions going bad when taken over by new owners.
