It was her debut album in 1988 and it was (and still is) a legendary song. Her debut album was nominated for three Grammies! She's had so successful a career she has a Greatest Hits album.

Just give me one reason why WaPo would have this take?

Sadly that same Tuesday Business Insider issued a very public correction that their claim was wrong. But of course over three days later the Washington Posts Jennifer Rubin still ran with the story that somehow got past their rigorous fact checking and editors.
