Media/Journalism Cringe Megathread - Hot off the Presses

This is more youtuber cringe than journalism, call it the result of the latter. Inside the mind of a brainwashing victim:
  • Complaining about muh cases and muh deaths (both are fudged)
  • Complaining about Gregg Abott telling people to back the blue and bringing up "police assaults" (hello? BLMers murdered people and burned down innocent businesses and housing)
  • Complaining about muh el paso shooting and a lack of response as though the deciding factor in it was guns.
  • Complaining about a lack of vaccinations as though we should all be lining up to take the experimental mrna vaccine with no long-term observation.
  • Complaining about reopening the state. Sorry businesses can't lose money indefinitely, swetty.
  • Actually bringing up SNL mocking texas and the news reporting on it as though those are trustworthy.
Journalism madness is one thing, but seeing how it filters into the minds of the unaware who have an audience is also unfortunate.

Well, for one thing, she's admitted to living just outside of Austin; they're wierd. ;)

But to be a bit more serious, I went to look at some of the covid case data, and she's not entirely incorrect. However, she neglected all other information in favor of her big numbers. "Texas is number 2 in new covid cases", but if you look at it by per million, Texas is number 26, right in the middle of the pack for our population. I wasn't able to find as cleanly presented data for the deaths, but I found a Line graph that had all fifty states tracked day by day, and I found at least 3 other states at the time of her video (March 3rd) that had higher deaths per million.

And all I had to do to find that was click a few tabs. She didn't seem to realize that Texas is big in both size and population, meaning our overall numbers are bigger than a lot of states.

I could keep listening and start going through other claims, but I'm frankly not interested or invested enough to do so.

I've been saying they need to be made common carriers for a damn long while. I'm glad to see at least one Justice agrees.

That's in no way what he found, and a shit summary.

Why do you think I posted the sauce?

Every journo or tom dick and harry has their own view of what some important person saying whatever so there's the source to read and decide what it is on what exactly reform is being proposed on social media.

No I saw what he posted and since it had the source I shared it because Clarence Thomas had an opinion on social media that some other Tom Dick and Harry courtesy of the internet can think his opinion as worth shit.

Respected British Newspaper, The Independent, posted a correction in regards to calling Andy Ngo a White Supremicist and a Nazi and affiliating with them and mischaracterizing his reaction to the January 6th Capitol Riots. It's nice to see newspaper and MSM news companies doing the right thing... after weeks and thousands of dollars of litigation.

Talk of the Deep State can feel conspiratorial. But this little saga was exactly that. People in the intelligence community worked up a just-so story and fed it into the partisan frenzy machine to frustrate the will of the elected president and humiliate him in an election year.

Just wonderful, so now our intelligence agencies are openly playing at politics. This doesn't smack of Praetorianism at all no sir. Are the highest seats in the land now for open bid? Can I take out a loan in order to pay the necessary bribes?

The article literally says they just heard it and wre not sure if it was true.
Almost like they were waiting to have defined information but someone jumped the gun

The "someone" who "jumped the gun" (read spun something for partisan benefit) is the same as the "they" you trust so wholeheartedly to "wait for detailed information."

Is there any boot you won't lick?
No.
We were literally told form day one that the IC heard the possibility of that happening. And the medianclaiked it true. The IC didn't even get to look into it much at that point
