I don't know if he believed or it was intentional trolling to get the fact checkers on the case to say it was mostly correct but wrong about shutting down the entire network.

you might want to make some exceptions.
1. young companies won’t pay dividends as they should be investing in the business, not paying the investor. Like how small business owners usually don’t take a salary in their first few years.
2. in times of financial trouble dividends can and should be suspended to keep the company afloat, rather than doing something like taking debt to pay a dividend
3. In years of acquisitions or when preparing for them, dividends should be suspended so the company can keep the cash flow to pay for the acquisition.

Who cares by this point? Hollywood is gonna collapse under its own weight now thanks to the pandemic. They'll finally be forced to have a reckoning after churning out years of creatively bankrupt garbage leaving way for actual cultural innovators to arise.

Idk about that. Trump's FCC Chairman had four years to clarify the rule of Section 230. The same is true of the GOP congressmen and senators. They had years to do something, and instead sat on their hands and doing nothing. I highly doubt anything is gonna come of this. A lot of them during the Zuckerberg hearing humiliated themselves because they didn't know how Facebook worked and asked Zuckerberg questions as if he were Customer Service Support. Then there's the issue of the all the big Tech oligarchs basically perjuring themselves before congress. Of course nothing came of this either.

I have pretty grim hopes about the future at this point.

And I think lots of hollywood celebs are buying up private islands atm....so yeah gonna need new actors too of the actually good kind

Shit wasn't nearly as bad or as blatant back then.

They weren't blocking the Senate, presidential campaigns and the president's press secretary.

Though I still won't be surprised if nothing happens.

Those champagne socialists also abuse their employees and fire em rather quickly and get off having power over them if Ellen DeGeneres is the norm

I would also suspect there would be some rather creepy stuff involving said private islands

And while rich, I don’t think they can afford PMCs to protect them from actual pirates coming by for too long

Hell, they may not even build walls and may get caught while enjoying the beach

Honestly, at some point they all gave up on one of the sort of hidden principles of the very capitalism they claim to despise

Which was "honor" or simply put, if you want to keep on having customers you gotta actually give them their money's worth
