Just for some historical perspective on media journalism cringe.

“It appears we have appointed our worst generals to command forces, and our most gifted and brilliant to edit newspapers! In fact, I discovered by reading newspapers that these editor/geniuses plainly saw all my strategic defects from the start, yet failed to inform me until it was too late. Accordingly, I’m readily willing to yield my command to these obviously superior intellects, and I’ll, in turn, do my best for the Cause by writing editorials – after the fact.”

- Robert E. Lee in 1863

''I will illustrate why I regard newspaper correspondents as spies. A spy is one who furnishes an enemy with knowledge useful to him and dangerous to us. I say in giving intelligence to the enemy, in sowing discord & discontent in an army, these men fulfill all the conditions of spies. I am satisfied they have cost the country hundreds of millions of dollars & brought our country to the brink of ruin & that unless the nuisance is abated we are lost.' While they cry about blood & slaughter they are the direct cause of more bloodshed than fifty times their number of armed Rebels.''

- William T. Sherman also in 1863 :p

Next time I see some South hating prick posting Sherman memes I'm breaking that one out.

Unless you're talking about him abandoning Union POWs I'm not remembering anything he did that qualifies as a crime. And note that I'm one of the people that consider raising statues of him in Atlanta crass grandstanding.

He sent troops to support the civil rights...
That too. Though supporting Civil Right deprived communists of agitation material so...

I forget his razing of GA was actually pretty tame. Well in the fact he did not rape and kill everyone on the way down, and had actually faced resistence.

Ike was a president that brought forth the Military industrial complex existence

The EU's official guide on "tackling Far-Right narratives" by the Radicalization Awareness Network. Get ready for some cringe.

Notice how they paint wanting to be safe as "radical behavior". How they never address the elephant in the room that the girl was harassed in the first place. They use that to justify talking about the "far-right" radicalization and rabbit holes without ever addressing the issue that people being harassed in the door of their own homes is not fucking OK. It's downright pathetic. They move on to talk about how the mother is worried now her attacked daughter had been radicalized into the far-right but is apparently not worried about the fact that she, you know, was harassed by grown men in her own front door. This is propaganda of the most blatant type.

I just “love” the uplifting music. And the “alternative narratives” are basically “let’s have therapy sessions and chat”.

Like fuck what?

(I do recall reading two academic articles about the Rotherham scandal-the authors seemed more concerned with “far right discourse” than the actual abuse).

Yeah. Apparently these RAN clowns have been doing such a "good" job that even other hoity-toity types are now telling them to fuck off. This article explains it pretty well. They are pretty much horrible at their job, but great at saying buzzwords that make the politicians happy and giving the EU exactly what they want.

The Republican Party elites I think at this point realizes it will never be in power except either as part of Trumpism(an expression of popular sentiments they despise and disbelieve) or as enforcers for dem rule.

The aim of outfits like the lincoln project is to suppress and demoralize their own voters, to actually change parties to become Dems doesn’t serve the purpose of suppressing Trumpism.

Various media outlets including “conservatives” have argued the Republican Party needs to be put down all together because racism or shit.

Basically they can not risk the Republican Party becoming a vehicle of actual dissent and actually being receptive to what it’s voters want. Tell the rubes you’ll oppose mass immigration and gun control and gay marriage to get their votes and then vote for these things in congress-that has been the republican’s MO for fifty years, and their electorate has become aware of it.

So the attitude is more or less “we’re not able to fool our voters anymore so let’s just destroy the party”.

It’s all about disenfranchising the Republican electorate. Rendering the Republican Party as Dem lite serves this purpose.

Remember the video of Antifa burning bibles in Portland? Well you don't. You fell for Russian propaganda. The New York Times is here to correct the record of your lying eyes.

It was just one or two bibles, not a stack. So it's a lie from Moscow. Great to see NYT keeping up with tradition of covering for commies.

Their asking us to belive them instead of our own eyes.

I don't think the NYT has enough clout to overcome that problem.
