So a Gate connection to the Japan Self-Defense Force from the anime Gate will connect to the universe of the last piece of one of the following media you watched (TV, Movie, Video Game)


So for example last game I played was RE5 so nothing to bad unless Weaker releases the virus on the other side.

Last show I saw was Invincible so the Viltrumites and Super Villains clear house.

Last movie I saw was some Werewolf movie so the Japan Self-Defense Force stomp kinda.

Last game I played was Europa Universalis 4, so kind of like the GATE series but without magic users I guess.

Last movie was El Camino. The respective governments stare at each other politely from their respective sides of the portal for a bit then team up to try and figure out what the fuck just happened.

Last series was Farscape. I guess Earth is fucked, especially when the Scarrans find out about the plant life.

hey, now that I think about it, the last actual movie I watched was some random old Bulgarian movie from the 70s - 80s that popped up in youtube recs.

Well, watch is a strong word, more like skipped through it.

Some silly family comedy about the hippie daughter of a guy who manages a shoe factory and the hippie son of a two dentists hooking together.

Standard late commie meh, which makes it better than 99% of all the latest drek we are getting from Hollywood.

So, yeah, the large contingent of weebs in high places that wanted us to have closer relations and more trade with Japan we had back then probably blow a few loads at the chance to have direct trade between Sofia and a Tokyo that is decades ahead in the future.

The Bulgarian military back then was pretty formidable and had the protections of the Warsaw pact, allegedly we even had some nukes handed over to us in secret, so I doubt the Japanese will try and invade.

First contact will probably happen between a bunch of hicks in a Lada, Zhigula or Moskvich driving through the gate by accident wondering out loud how the hell Sofia became so big and shiny and when the hell did we import so many Vietnamese "driving on the wrong side of the road, fuck their asiatic mamas."

By Loki it's actually the whole TVA/Multiverse and timeline nonsense. Maybe not much will change, especially since the whole point of the Loki show is the multiverse thing going on... so this world would likely be its own timeline. Maybe weaker then average due to lack of superhumans but really not a big deal IMHO I feel.

Shin Godzilla as forementioned would be metal asf since it'd basically be two Japans I suppose, one Japan can support the Shin Godzilla one in its time of need, especially with the tens of billions in destruction and recovery that will be needed. But outside of humanitarian concerns I suppose the two worlds aren't too dissimilar to be honest.

Total War Warhammer III takes place in the Warhammer Fantasy world so that would be metal asf. The Warhammer Fantasy world in TWW3 is leagues more formidable then the Gate Fantasy world AFAIK and approaching it holistically would likely provide a fair bit more impediment to conquest, but I feel there isn't actually much that can reliably conquer or defeat a modern combined army. Plus the lack of Winds of Magic in the real world would blunt the Warhammer fantasy races from making a proper initial impression on Japan itself unfortunately. Still the counter-campaign to conquer the Warhammer Fantasy Realm, I suppose depending on where the gate is, would be highly problematic.

My last campaign was with High Queen Khalida, a Tomb King faction so if the Gate opens in her territory, she might actually be pretty amicable to the strange Humans as opposed to attacking them outright. And she'd probably love modern artillery, since she grants her army loads of ranged attack benefits already so they'd be even more invincible. In return, the Mortuary Cult can mummify and bring Japanese dead back from life. Bonus points if they do so without being asked first. 💀

The 1997 movie with Sylvester Stallone? That's a fine, fine film. Same Director as Logan IIRC.

I thought that took place in New Jersey across the River from New York City but regardless... NYPD has about 20000 or so officers I think. Plus County, State and Federal Law Enforcement. Still need heavy weapons to counter the tanks and aircraft though.

Still do a better job then the Fantasy expies.

Haven't watched much lately, but I actually played a good game for this. One that would bring much merriment...for us. A game where they'd be as outmatched as the people they fought against. So outmatched it isn't even funny...

Which is to say, I played Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader the CRPG...

So, yeah, they are fucked and probably the Earth of GATE is fucked too. How fucked they are really depends... but they are fucked regardless.

So I guess it depends on where exactly the gate opens up; as long as the Covenant doesn't go full orbital bombardment the JSDF should be able to fight off them off long enough to keep them from just storming through the gate and into Japan. If the JSDF encounters UNSC survivors I guess it'll turn into something of a refugee situation with possible tech upgrades for the JSDF and Japan depending on exactly who and what goes through. And if they encounter the Flood and fail to keep them from getting through the gate in significant numbers... Oh, boy.

The canon gate is far too small for starships; if I recall correctly, the JSDF had to bring a fighter jet through in pieces and then reassemble it on the other side. Though that same gate opened up in Tokyo, so a Covenant Scouting Force going through would appear right in the middle of an urban setting... for better or for worse.
