It doesn't matter. Their military was covertly supporting the Taliban. Both sides are enemies of the free world. So question was this a real massacre of protestors, or was the army shooting at rebels/Islamic terrorists?
Imran Khan is the Trump of Pakistan, his supporters want pretty much the same things we do. He hates the Taliban and wants to liberalize the democracy, not in the traditional western liberal way, but simply make things more fair for the common man. However the establishment that backs the Taliban hates that, so under the Islamic Socialist party took power in elections that were called out for being rigged. They then arrested Imran Khan and the people began to protest. Pakistan is headed for a civil war from the looks. So question was this a real massacre of protestors, or was the army shooting at rebels/Islamic terrorists?
Not so much, Imran Khan and Trump actually held common beliefs and a friendly relation. He doesn't like the Taliban either, and wants them out. The Islamic Socialist however...It doesn't matter. Their military was covertly supporting the Taliban. Both sides are enemies of the free world.
From what i'm hearing over a thousand have been detained and many more were forced to flee Islamabad, and although the military claimed that lethal force wasn't used, the over 100 killed seem to disagree.Loose Pakistani nukes are a nightmare for many countries, and not just the ones that border Pakistan directly.
If this devolves into a true civil war, things could get very bad.
It will definitely end in Pakistani-American relations heating up, that is if a civil war doesn't happen. I'm fairly certain that something will come of it along the lines, blood has already been spilt after all. If a Civil War happens expect Trump to back Imran Khan's supporters in it, not out in the open, but in arms deals.Damn beat me to it! I was intending to start a thread on this. Now the only question is how Pakistan's allies respond. Largely they've seen Iran and Azerbaijan and the Arab League flock to their side as they brutalize protesters. Imran Kahn is basically the Trump/Bernie of Pakistan as was said earlier so it makes sense the authoritarian elements within Pakistan, Iran and the Arab states would take the side of the Pakistani Government.

Idiots. They should either let the civvies rule or just crush the protests with an iron fist. This bizarre middle ground authoritarianism is the worst of both worlds.
But what is really worrying is that neither side seems to care about US interests, just like how neither the Republicans nor the other guys seem to care about the threat this nuclear armed failed state (or the other one) is going to pose if not neutralized quickly.
No...that's how you definitely have nukes. Pakistan is to India as Israel is to Iran. Not everything is our responsibility.
India is the local hedgemon in the region and allowing them to handle things would most likely work out best.
