This why my husband and his brother ( in regards to the family business) say rules should be clearly spelled out and the enforcement should be equally draconian. You may make people mad and be called an asshole but nobody can sue you.
This is the USA, you can be sued for anything. Though covering your ass like that is still the best policy.
