Unions do work but it depends upon the profession and if it's a closed shop or not.
My impression is that Unions are damn near useless these days, and often are mostly in it to extract dues they can use for politcal reasons.
I was treated much better at the non-Union retailers I've worked at compared to Union shops.

At some point, the presence of unions sort of fails to account for the freelancers and new technologies popping up

The problem's with unions in the U.S. is a lot of them are closed shop a outdated practice if their ever was one. Especially in organizations like railroads where being a union member is required and their is only one possible union to join.
They don't care about you and why should they? After all they get their due's regardless each week because your struck with them by law and can't replace them by law so why should they care?
Railroad Unions also have it bad in the U.S. because even if your union decides to strike they will be put back to work in a few days along with you thanks to Harry Truman's 1950's strike break up which resulted in congress making it so if any railroad union strikes they can (And 100% will) be put back to work within three days or face jail time.
So just to be clear railroad unions don't strike because they have no reason to. (For those in Charge anyway) Can't strike because even if they did a three day strike isn't giving any leverage to make demands and furthermore you can't replace them either due to you being stuck by law to them, all the while the Union head is rolling in the money with the CEO on the top floor. and your stuck paying due's
That's true but my point is we need to reform union laws because are present ones were made by dinosaurs.

They only cared about the employees with seniority, who had been there for 30+ years. Also bargained way a third of our lunch break to make it a paid lunch, our factory was big enough that it could take 5 minutes to walk to the cafeteria. The cafeteria eventually ran out of money because of that, and had to limit its hours then the vendor pulled out. The one good thing was that the union would help get one of the techs out if you had some car trouble. Glad I'm out of there and into a computer job now.

They od know unlike Local PD and Local stuff..doing this stuff to Federal officers is a federal crime and fall under those issues right? as in they wont be getting off easily...
Plus Federal Officers are a lot more likely to be less afraid of using violence, as attacking them will get someone in jail and not released to cause more havok

Amazon did this. There was an amazon warehouse dominated by somalis, and they started to organise a Union. Amazon 'diversified' it by bringing in hodgepodge of mexicans and central americans. This made forming a union nearly impossible. Mission accomplished.
Works on whole societies too.

What are the chances of the feds using this to declare martial law in Washington's state and crushing this with the troops?
I know right these groups say they have succeeded from the U.S. and then storm a federal building and attack federal employees a hundred years ago that caused a civil war and has for less in many other countries.

That's why I'm so pessimistic, this can't afford to be forgotten and you can't afford to see people romanticize the rioters for long
They even have people like my family believing in that crap, though hopefully I got my sister to understand WHY blacks are having a harder time than latinos and East Asians and such....well she might not have bought my talk of how certain laws supporting single black mothers ended up causing an increase in quick and easy divorces which resulted in single parent homes....that weren't so good for their development because it's not that easy for there only to be one parent

Of course your sister doesn't care for your blaming it on single motherhood. Women want all the options, to be able to divorce at a whim and still get tons of money. Anything that puts that in danger is heresy.
