The Rittenhouse, Gardner, and McCloskey cases show that local DAs will let the mob attack you, and will charge you if you dare to defend yourself. That is a microcosm of how Republicans and many independents will see this election; not simply another election cycle, but a fight for survival of the Republic and their own lives. Because they know that if the Left gets power again anytime soon, anyone who supported Trump or the GOP is facing a purge.

Add in Crossfire Hurricane, which broke the peaceful transition of power between administrations, and there is little reason for Trump supporters to accept a loss as legit.

Neither side is likely to accept a loss as legit, and we need to be clear eyed about what that means for our society and nation.

I doubt it. These people have been elected. Even if the demorats refuse to acknowledge our elections as legitime, we still should respect their votes. Besides, it will bring further ruin to Portland, so they can deal with the consequences of their choices.
