You know, I was feeling doubtful about Atomic Heart, but now that Harenko compares it to the masterpiece Hogwarts Legacy, maybe I should buy the game after all?

Something to think about!
Looks like it could be fun - I'll want to wrap up on Hogwart's before another full-price purchase though so I've put it on the wishlist.

This guy has a more balanced take on it, apparently one of the sponsors is tied to Gazprom, but that's about one good point against this game that we actually know at this point.
Beyond that, we don't know what exactly the plot will be. It could be a Soviet themed Bioshock, or even Wolfenstein style game. It could also be full on Z propaganda. So making assumptions about that at this point is just a good way to end up eating crow later.

Honestly, it being full on propaganda would be just as entertaining from my perspective. When I was at my friends house in college I would jokingly play the Soviet National Anthem. Of course, I'm talking about it being Soviet propaganda rather than propaganda for modern Russia.

In any case, I'll be keeping a close eye on reviews as they drop. Will make a purchasing decision between metacritic scores and YouTube review drops and the full release.
Regardless if it has propaganda or not, considering how many game developers and publishers behaved or released their games in the last 10 years or so it should be always be a wait and see.

I did the same thing with Pathfinder Kingmaker and sequel and the Dying Light 2 (turns out that I was bombarded with positive review videos but the sequel to DL1 is inferior in many technical aspects to the original).

Forspoken is the one who feels the more propaganda to it and it oozes : beyond the technical issuses it is like the quintessial progressive bullshit you see in Disney-Marvel.

Forspoken being a triple A title with 70 euros price tag and marketing got surpassed by a shadow dropped 30 euros "indie"-like game. Even Steam reviews show that :

By the way these are Forspoken "writers" :

I managed to snag a copy of Plan B terraforming for $9 from Steam. So far looks like a fun game. Especially if you play Factorio.

I felt like this was pretty insightful and explains a lot of why I barely play any modern AAA titles and stick with either indy or retro stuff.

That said I also think he's missing the forest for the trees and hasn't noticed that the destructive monetizing behaviors he's talking about are only found in the big companies (and on mobile games in general) and that those huge companies are getting their lunch eaten by indy developers at the moment, who are making cheaper games but not games that nickel and dime you to death with microtransactions.
