Europeans bled themselves dry so that Poland could be Resurrected!
Then it got gang-raped by Nazi and Soviet butchers a generation later, having 16(-ish) percent of its pre-war population killed before being ruled by communists for the next forty years. So… yeah, pretty shit resurrection, though with luck, Poland will experience the revival it deserves in this century (even if the last one sucked balls).
The last one didn't completely suck balls for Poland. Poland did, after all, get its borders from the year 1000 restored after the end of World War II:
And while the Holocaust was certainly an extremely massive tragedy for Poland's Jews, it might have been less so for Poland itself since if most of Poland's Jews would have survived, then they might have subsequently emigrated to Israel en masse just like ex-USSR did Jews did (well, to Israel or the US or Canada or Germany, et cetera). So, Poland itself might not have benefitted too much from this, though again, it would have obviously undoubtedly been the best outcome.

so if you could get on the freeway heading west it might be possible. however you will need to stop for gas too so prolly need to go faster. also you will have to hope the police don't pull you over and avoid major cities as well on your route.
