I dunno if it was posted here already but I recalled we had a Far Cry 6 thread so... here's a Gameplay Trailer.

Also in Far Cry news... Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is getting a six episode anime treatment.

You heard me. It's been in development since 2019 apparently and while there's no mention of Rex "Power" Colt, the titular hero portrayed by Michael Biehn, the main character in here has just as an imposing name which is DOLPH LASERHAWK.

Probably named for Clifton Laserhawk who founded Harvard College in 1349 while on a quest to tame dinosaurs.

Oh I saw the movie about that. It starred Mark Hamill and uhhh that guy from the Free Willy movie.*

*The Kid, not the Orca.

GManLives was able to play a preview of the game a few months ago apparently.

Takeaways include equippable bits of clothing and accessories, more localization damage and enemy vulnerabilities/resistances and the like with specialized ammunition types.

Also at least three adorable pet companions including a Gator named 'Guapo', a crazy Rooster with blades on its feet and an adorable dachshund puppy on wheels who can distract enemies with the power of cuteness.

Apparently the Caribbean Island setting is somewhat based off of Cuba in that the country has been basically blockaded and cut off from the rest of the world so a lot of the weapons and tech is all cobbled together and including a badass looking crossbow and a crazy backpack with various lethal abilities one can choose from.

You can also ride about on horseback.

And apparently Giancarlo Esposito is a wonderfully love to hate charismatic Dictator whose so good he's apparently kind of distracting when he shows up for better or worse. But there is also a whole cast of colorful characters in the game as to be expected.

The bad guy from Breaking Bad Caribbean Dictator Anton Castillo Giancarlo Esposito breaks down one of the pathetic weapons of the Rebels from Far Cry 6 in a less then ninty second video.

"State of the Art" weapons...

Reject Rebellion. Embrace Espositoism.

GMan Lives issued a very in depth and surprisingly spoiler light review of the game. Looks to be fun but deeply flawed.

Some of the gama changes do give me second thoughts on buying the game such as the switch to unlocking items and gear over previous games XP achievements leading to character progression.

So I bought the game, and I can't recommend it. It's a generic Ubisoft open world with an interesting villain. And they flopped hard on the story. It's a story based on Cuba, with a murderous dictator in charge, people are trying to flee the island to go to Miami, with mass enslavement, but they won't call it communism. It's cowardice.

The funniest bit, and I don't know who snuck this stuff past the radar, but kudos to them, is how they have a whole bit about the oppression of the LGBT. See, in FC6, LGBTs, who otherwise would be conscripted against their will to work in the military, are instead forced into labor camps and to be 'corrected'. Now who does this remind you of?

Oh, and the brutal racism in FC6? Also a Che classic.

So basically they ended up with Cuba in all but name, where the only thing missing is calling the rulers commies.

It is...kinda implied.
Remeber, Ubisoft is a French Canadian and French Company.

They will do a lot of random shit that is everything but call them commies.

I also fully enjoy their generic open world games. The villain makes the game

Far Cry 6's villain is considered one of the series weakest because there is no personal relationship between you and the villain for 85% of the game. He doesn't even know you exist. That's probably why they hired Giancarlo Esposito.
I mean, that doesn't seem that bad. Better then New Dawn. In 5 you are noticed by the father at first, but as time goes on he starts to hate you

It seems to me that enemy ai in this game is even worse than in a previous game. I remember seeing videos of gameplay where enemies on a high difficulty instantly know where you are, and stealth becomes impossible. It doesn't seem like something that was unintended. At least previous far cry also wasn't about another banana dictatorship (well, it was a religious sect, but still it was at least some kind of diversity in terms of background for villain cast). Though they did bring back vaas, so at least kudos to them for it.
