My man, so many people have been brainwashed before adblocking became popular, that they aren't even aware of adblockers being a thing. To relate it to advertising, I use adblock on browsers, use the mute button on the rare occassion I watch TV, and when I'm listening to the radio I channel surf or turn it off when ads start. It isn't particularly hard to cut most of the advertising out of your life, and if you willingly expose yourself to it continuously, that's your fault.
I can't speak for every country, but in my country the education profession is filled with people unaware that you can block ads.
And, well, zoomers have the attention span of a goldfish, I'm not too sure if they know how to adblock either.
At some point people become helpless to their own instincts, advertising/propaganda works because we figured out how human brains worked a longggggggggggg time ago.
Everyone is variably resistant to propaganda. Nobody is immune.
