Election 2020 Election 2020: It's (almost) over! (maybe...possibly...ahh who are we kidding, it's 2020!)

I don’t see the Democrats throwing Biden under the bus, they will fight to the bitter end. Even if cheating is proven and Biden loses, they will call Trump’s victory a coup and incite people with that claim for years.

Ok that's the second option, in a trump victory.

What happens then is that the insurrection act is activated, the rioting is put down and then the rico act is activated and once people start looking for dirt more and more will come out. Instead of taking a minor hit the democrats take a major serious hit to their insitutional power. You have a horrible year of screaming and pain but cheating on this scale is blood feud level shit and a whole lot of people go to prison.

It takes 10 or so years for the democrats to come back to power after the scandal and they do so with far less insitutional power. If they throw biden under the bus it would be 4-6 years out of power. If they hadnt cheated at all I think it would have been 2-4 years.

Next option which would be a really bad fucking idea, is litteral coup, but those are really hard to pull off and if they get caught or fuck it up they go from having people just go to prison to having people die, and in the case of 'success' they have to sleep with one eye open because they lost all legitimacy.

A coup brings us from our current escalation of an 8 to a 9. A lost coup keeps them out of power for around 15 years or so and sees pretty much all of the hire ups gone.

worst option is civil war.

Thats maximum escalation and no matter what happens millions of americans die. If the dems win the civil war they win it all, if they lose their out of power for a generation.

If a civil war happens there will be no winner and the modern world will end as we know it

The modern world as we know it always had a limited shelf life; the would will change drastically in the near future, whether we have a civil war or not, for a multitude of reasons. Our current way of doing things at almost every level in every sector is unsustainable (politics, culture, the economy, et cetera), and the situation is reaching a breaking point. Mark my words; if our nation doesn't change for the better, it will change for the worse. Stagnation is no longer an option; and the same goes for the rest of the world.

While all the old fucks who caused the problems are gone while it's our turn to hold the barrel.
Jokes on them though; if science is allowed by circumstances to progress as it should in the coming decades, many of us will end up living far longer that any of them did. I'm talking lifespans measure not in decades, but centuries. They're going to miss out on that, because they wasted their money on petty power grabs, instead of cutting-edge medical technology that could have otherwise gotten here much sooner.

Honestly, curing aging may be the only thing that stops us from repeating the exact same mistakes yet again; because then, people who were actually there to learn from the lessons of the past, will still be around and in their prime.

Immortality without aging sounds bloody fantastic. It's crazy to think our generation is actually in with a shout at that. Granted, for me, I would be happy with a normal lifespan if I just didn't get old.

I'm honestly convinced the future isn't going to be so bad. Because if this tech does arrive in time for me, I will gain the privilege of seeing a truly singular moment in history: mankind spreading throughout the solar system and perhaps beyond.

If we reach immortality or close to it, we are going to have HUGE problems for the time being. Probably would need to start laws to restrict birthing levels.

Once we can go off planet it won't be a problem.

Until then, over population from billions being born and no one dying, would be an absolute mess.

Hence the "getting a move on with expansion throughout the inner system within this century." The tech is "sort of" already here for it, but not quite enough to get fully underway. I actually reckon that what happens with this election will have an important effect on whether or not the United States dominates the coming era.

Well we will see what our new world super power does once Biden hands China the ring.

I thought the more prosperous a nation, the less children will likely be born? Though that maybe due to the whole “Have children when you’re in your 30s or 40s” thing

You're going to have to cut down even those countries if people stopped dying and making room for new generations.

You'd have to drive birthing to a near halt. You could still have some population growth for a while, but space is going to run out quick.
