Edward is a "genderfluid" boy
Cowboy Bebop fans are not going to take this well at all. Neither should they.

I've said it before but I'll say it again, I fear we'll have to wait until the 2050s for decent adaptions.

Edit: Also, what the actual shit, the bloke the got to play Spike Spiegal is some twenty years too bloody old for the role. Also, "Spike" is not the most Asian sounding of names, is it?

Actually, turns out I may be wrong; the person playing Edward identifies themselves as they/them nonbinary, and I'm finding conflicting information as to what gender they actually are, as well as whether or not it's being carried over to their portrayal of the character.

There are a million valid reasons to complain about Netflix Bebop. I'll take Cho looking old as one. But for Spike not being an asian name? As compared to what? Tony (Leung)? John (Cho)? If you don't want to count someone who had a fully asian birth name, how about Jamie (Jilynn Chung)? Constance (Wu)? Those all sound like such asian first names, I'm sure.

An additional note before anyone says anything. Spike's looks were based on Yusaku Matsuda and the creators chose the last name Spiegel because it sounded cool.

Considering the "woke" mentality, I have zero doubt that since the actor identifies themselves as "they/them" that Ed is also a "they/them."
