Try that with a military base.
Ain't happening.
Some of them are leased, but others, well they are not.
And the federal government won't give those up.

Also most of lands owned by the federal government, don't they also include national Parks?
And the parts of Nevada they own is missle test ranges.
How else we gonna stay on top?

The federal government shouldn't own more then half of a state.

Sure some land like in the east is fine, I think a 10th of a state should be the rest.

And I think a lot of national parks should be given over to the states in question as well.

States may not be able to care for them or CARE about caring for them.
It is the National Park service and the National Forestry Service that go to those areas

National parks services can still care for parks even if the US government doesn't own the land.

Though to be clear, I am not on the "federal government should own no land" side.

I gotcha.
Just saying some states could abuse it and say "Our land".
Especially if they want to make it into something else

Yeah, I support and love parks. It's one thing I don't mind tax dollars going to. Up front cost free recreation for the entire population, is a good thing for many, many people. Good for keeping the population in shape.

I may be biased because I utilize my nearby national park multiple times a week, and absolutely love it. (Cuyahoga Valley National Park)

Janet Yellen Says Biden’s ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ Will Rid Us of Oil and Gas

Janet Yellen Says Biden’s ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ Will Rid Us of Oil and Gas (VIDEO)

Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on Thursday admitted that Joe Biden’s ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ is actually the Green New Deal repackaged.

Yellen said Biden’s Marxist spending bill will “rid ourselves” of oil and gas.

“The Inflation Reduction Act will put us on our way toward a future where we depend on the wind, the sun and other clean sources of energy. We will rid ourselves from our dependence on fossil fuels,” Yellen said.

The Biden Regime believes California is “in the lead” on energy.

Jennifer Granholm on Tuesday said California is “in the lead” on energy and can “show the rest of the nation how it is done.”

Meanwhile California’s grid operator is telling utilities to prepare for rotating power outages.

California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom is also begging people to turn off their lights and not use appliances to avoid power outages amid soaring temps.

This is after California banned gas-powered car sales starting in 2035.

California will show the rest of the nation how its done huh? You, uh, sure that's the example you want to give? What with the rolling blackouts and energy rationing?

She's referring to the version of California that only exists within the echo chamber she's lived in her entire life; the one that's a veritable utopia thanks to "elites" like her.

What you mean to say is, she is a senile old bat that makes less sense than Biden after he has had a bottle of vodka, a whiff of his son's special powder, and some quality time with a female hair lotion bottle...

Being fair, a lot of Californians are like that. It's exceedingly easy, when you live in a wealthy beachfront neighborhood with good security, to see things as a total paradise where bad things only happen in other parts of California, probably parts that have Republicans in them. I have an older sister like that, she rarely leaves her wealthy California district and when she does, it's usually a vacation to Mexico where she visits tourist destinations that speak fluent California Socialite.

Her reaction on visits to me in the deep south (or currently midwest) and basically "See? Conservative and poor, not a Utopia like Liberal California. Imagine how much more money these ranchers would have if they grew (Insert trendy California crop that requires 30 feet of silty bottomland and year-round perfect weather to grow) instead of wasting so much land on cattle like this! Or imagine all this land turned into subdivisions with a million-dollar house on each acre, this dingy farm could be worth a billion dollars if they'd use the land more wisely! I'd pay for that in a heartbeat, an acre is like fifteen times my current lawn."

I assume you don't bother trying to correct her; because you know she'd react poorly, and wouldn't listen to anything you have to say anyways. Most of my extended family on my mother's side is like that.

It's worth more to keep family happy than get a "win" that won't get me anything but hatred.
I know the feeling; but the hatred is still there, even when you do everything you can to avoid coaxing it out to the surface. Or maybe that's just me and my family; because every once in a while they'll spout a condescending lecture about how we're bad people because we're not like them, and trying to defend ourselves will just make it worse.
