Military has had rules like that for most of its existence. For a few decades you lost your clearance if you married a Russian.

I'm looking at it from the Asian perspective amigo. Especially the Watsonville riots fuck your KKK, our Katipunan aren't cowards who hide in bedsheets. They charged Spanish guns with sword, spear and musket their faces bared, death songs on their lips for the Gods to see.

Clearance revoked I agree with but bringing back laws alike to the red scare and McCarthyism? That's a dangerous precedent.
Those are completely valid concerns.
I'm not advocating internment or even revocation of rights. I'll stand against it myself if that gets pushed again.
I'm suggesting that Chinese nationals or anyone married to a Chinese national NOT be given classified access privileges.

Requiring public statements rejecting communism, and criticizing Xi Jin Ping, Vladimir Putin, or whatever the communist leader of the day is, would go a fair distance towards filtering out potential spies from people trying to get security clearance for infiltration purposes.

We did that and literally had multiple Communist agents at all levels in the 1930s-1950s. Crazy thing is, people can lie.

That historically never worked. Case in point every spy caught in the Manhattan project did as you said. Hell even the spies you caught recently got in because they pretended to criticize Xi and the CCP publicly on Chinese intranet and had to "flee political persecution."

It's not the lie that would make it hard.
It's the 'face' conscious nature of Chinese culture, especially mixed with communism, and how making public statements criticizing both Chinese communism, and their leaders in particular would be a very serious issue under that set of values.
Again, I'm not saying this is perfect.
I'm saying 'add this to the requirements for security clearance would help.' Because the nature of ideological zealots is that some would balk at that stage.
And what exactly would it cost? Half an hour to record and make a social media post?

I'm merely stating it's a wasted effort because CCP spies are trained with torture as incredible method actors. The amateurs that would be caught by such were intended to be caught to increase the chances of the real spy getting through.
Secret clearance is somewhat becoming mandatory in the military, which means passing a background check.
Getting TS means you can not have any connections with nations such as China. Russia, Iran, North Korea at least.

Just like the requirements for working in casino and bank security, but more strict. You need to be an detail focused, OCD, eunuch with no contact with non-security staff. Depending on the job site no contact with anyone not part of your shift detail. Everything compartmentalized and insulated.
I mean, when you are dealing with national security things, which can cause grave damage to the US, you kinda have to be trust worthy.
He'll, some agencies in thr DoD require even stricter checks.

I play games not once have I been tempted to post technical specifications to incorrect game specs. First there was that moron in the UK who posted IFV weapon systems online, that idiot American chairforce staffer, several Russian and Chinese counterparts. All posting classified military documents

Yeah that was something else. With said something being mostly bewildering and dumb.
Yup. I was one of the lucky ones b/c I only lived in one place before enlisting. So only one office/investigator was necessary for my background check. And it still took about 6 months.
The unlucky were holdovers at my training base for months...unable to even start training, they became base staff essentially. Grounds keepers, maintenance and janitorial engineers were their roles for those months.
I got lucky that I was squeaky clean.
I know guys that went to AIT and STILL waited for thier clearance for about 6 months there as well.
And that isn't even about the badges once you get into the TS SCIFS and the like
"But, but I have to prove some guy on the Internet wrong!"
