What new ChiComery are the ChiComs up to now?

Henan, China's third largest province by population, published an interesting document online.

Washington Free Beacon said:
The near-200 page tender document from the Henan Public Security Department does not give reasons why it wants to track journalists or international students. Another category of people it said it wants to track were "women from neighboring countries that are illegal residents."

Public access to the tender document was disabled on Monday.

The tender document specified cameras must be able to build a relatively accurate file for individuals whose faces are partially covered by a mask or glasses, and those targeted must be searchable on the database by simply uploading a picture or searching their facial attributes.

Also in other news, China's Debt Trap Strategy to gain influence and power in Africa continues...

Nab a major African countries only international airport for only a $200 million dollar loan. 👌

From what I've heard from my mother, the vaunted Chinese camera system is quite susceptible to failure.

Mass produced shit quality cameras that are put out in the open, exposed to the elements.

And the sheer number of cameras means that maintenance is near impossible.

Those things break down every 2-3.

And when they need to rely on the camera, it's broken.

Microsoft's Digital Crimes Unit received permission from US Federal Courts to seize numerous website domains that were allegedly being utilized by Nickel/APT-15, which is a state sponsored Chinese hacking group that used these malicious websites to gain intelligence on government agencies, nonprofits and think tanks located in 28 different countries.

TechCrunch said:
Microsoft, which has been tracking Nickel since 2016 and previously described it as one of the “most active” hacking groups targeting government agencies, said it observed “highly sophisticated” attacks that installed hard-to-detect malware that facilitates intrusion, surveillance and data theft. In some cases, Nickel’s attacks used compromised third-party virtual private network (VPN) suppliers and credentials obtained from spear-phishing campaigns, according to Microsoft, and in others, vulnerabilities in Microsoft’s own Exchange Server and SharePoint system were used to infiltrate companies.

In addition to the U.S., Nickel also targeted organizations in Argentina, Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Jamaica, Mali, Mexico, Montenegro, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom and Venezuela.

Problem is...China has a money problem and it may come home to roost very soon. Also they have neighbors that want an excuse to cut them off from Arabian oil.
The built/are building a pipeline into Iran for oil, so they are not completely dependent on either SA or Russia for petrochemical supplies.

Also, the CCP had made large inroads with places in Europe and central Asia with the Belt and Road initiative.

Treating the CCP as a paper tiger is not a wise move, and the still have a lot of diplo clout; see the nations who still will not open relations with Taiwan because they are scared of the CCP.

The CCP can be countered and beat, but only if people actually take them seriously instead of clinging to cope memes.
