From the little-known video game Darkest of Days (which had a game engine capable of handling hundreds of AI at once in the same area, interacting with each other and the player, and without strict scripts determining their every move, a requirement to make WW1 and Civil War battles feel more real), the AMP-60. Fires off flechettes instead of regular bullets.

This design combines all of the disadvantages of conventional and bullpup layouts and none of their advantages. On top of that fundamental failure, it is a "cool looks over function" ergonomic nightmare with a pistol grip / thumbhole stock at an angle only a contortionist could use, an absolutely moronic safety switch that is not only pointlessly separate from the fire select switch but also impossible to reach with either hand in operating position, and a magazine change that literally is the worst thing since muzzle loading and would likely require turning the rifle 90 degrees *in two axes* in order to reach.

Nice. Options for sights, grenade launcher or shotgun attachment?
It's stupid old, and the download function died in a flash update. I still have the code for it, though.

Both from an old CnC Tib idea a long while back.

If it makes you feel better, it's the only horrible design of the game other than the microwave gun you get to play with at the end of the game. Even the AR-55 is based on the real-life AR conversion to 5.7, just with a G11-style magazine. The tamest of the lot is the M7, which looks like the SCAR-H bullpup conversions.

Still looks a hell of a lot better than the abortion designs Bethesda used for the Fallout games.... 🤬

I just hate striker fired guns
You must hate the Sig service pistol then.

PSA of poverty pony fame has un update.
they'll be rolling out 5.56 krinks in feb, with 5.45, .300 blk, and 7.62x39- coming later and in that order

The rest of their AKs run a little under a grand ($700-900), which is actually pretty decent for a small batch weapons manufacturer. For reference, the guys who make FALs price them at around $1100-1400.

Got the piece used at Bear Arms, the previous owner had replaced the iron rear sight with a ridiculously large scope so I replaced it with a red dot since it was on special for black Friday.

And speaking of Bear Arms, here's a shiny thing. Literally. The "Nebula" is a iridescent rainbow PVD finish that was introduced as a premium option on Chiappa firearms starting around 2019, and it is quite gorgeous.

I think one person called it the "Oil-slick finish"? Very nice.

It's the only replica STG-44 available, original articles are far too rare and expensive, not to mention requiring an FFL to purchase.

Ironically there were a number of them popping up several years ago in Syria during the heyday of the civil war.
