Something else to consider. So we should not expect a ruling till spring it seems. However, from what Thomas was saying, and the line of questioning he undertook...I give this even odds of overturning Roe V Wade.
Of course that could backfire, as we are going into the the midterms this coming year, and an overturned Roe V Wade could see the threat of SCOTUS packing made good, and enrage the Left enough to hamper the theorized 'Red Wave' many expect via giving them a cause to rally around.
Because if SCOTUS does overturn Roe V Wade, expect the Dems to decide they will shove the same laws through Congress, or just decide to ignore SCOTUS fully, like they did with the eviction moratorium.
The Court overturning Roe v Wade would be the biggest "fuck you" to the Never!Trump faction of "Republicans" that could happen. Because it would show that Trump managed to do something no single other Republican president has managed to do. Now, granted, it HAS been a long term project, and George HW Bush will share considerable amount of the credit as it is his judicial appointment of Justice Clarence Thomas (and, remember, Thomas was put through as much bullshit as Kavanaugh, and like Trump, HW didn't pull his support for Thomas despite those attacks, so he does deserve those props) is the intellectual and moral rock of the Conservative wing of the Court. W Bush will also share some of the credit as Alito has proven to be a pretty solid Conservative too, but without Trump's Three and Justice Thomas there would be no way this would he happening.
If it is overturned, it WILL be because of Trump's three judicial appointments. No amount of handwringing over "mean tweets" or being "unpresidential" will be able to change that. Overturning Roe v Wade would arguably completely justify the "deal with the devil" the Social Conservatives made with Trump, and be a major blow against those who said that Trump wasn't worth the price. Overturning Roe has been one of the core Republican missions since, well, since it was decided and nobody could claim we'd be in this position if Clinton had been President... and it would be arguable given a more milktoast President other than Trump who might have blanched at fighting the fights he did for the Supreme Court.
Seriously... you have no clue how much of a body blow Roe being overturned does to the "proper conservative social con" branch of the NeverTrumpers... it basically discredits then entirely.
