We will find out later tonight on who will control the House. Although there's a chance Mayra Flores could knock off Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX 34th), so we will see if Flores returns to Congress.

Sure, keep thinking that. 2 yrs is time for LOTS to happen, and I don't think we can use the historic trends for what's going to happen under this Trump admin.

I just do NOT see the GOP keeping control of the US House of Representatives forever. I just don't see the Dems being shut out forever because you know Trump's going to be facing a backlash at some point in his 2nd & FINAL term as President.
I should note 2025 is NJ & VA Governorships, where the Dems will be gunning to taking back VA & holding onto NJ (despite what freak Pressler says about turning NJ Red).

I was very unsure about the election and only made one prediction: that no matter who won the House it would be by a more significant majority than the relatively narrow ones of the last two sessions. And it looks like I was wrong!

Speaking of crazy: Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL 01st) has resigned from Congress just HRS after being named by President-elect Trump to serve as US Attorney General LOL.
It allows DeSantis immediately call for a snap election for Gaetz House seat within a few weeks or so. That way Gaetz can be put in place during the Recess, and now the House seat can be filled, hopefully by a Republican prior to Trump coming into office. Gaetz seat is pretty secure for the Rs.
