If Milei succeeds in ending the perennial Argentine Economic Crisis, it will be a Reagan level disaster for the international left. It would make the opening of China look like a joke.

However, I doubt that this crazy man has any coherent, rational plans beyond ancap level policies. And also, the entrenched interests of Argentina like the Trade Unions won't rest until he's beaten. Neither will the mainstream media, because to them anyone who's not a leftist is a fascist.

So Godspeed, Milei, you have inadvertently made yourself into a martyr like Narsimha Rao and Alberto Fujimori. If you buck my cynical expectations and succeed, history will not remember you well, but people will.

It would force the left to consider forming coalitions instead of playing purity politics endlessly. If anything it might force the left's head out of their asses and wake the fuck up to the reality of politics in the West (I do consider Latin America part of the West unlike most people), particularly the origins of left-libertarianism in France in the late 19th century.

Wasting money on militarism in peaceful times like these is just ignorant. He should focus on getting inflation numbers down and shoring up his support for the Legislative elections.
