Bacle, though I still have serious disagreements with you on some issues, I have come to respect you even more as of late. Since, you have proven that you have clearly defined ideals that you wish to stand up for and you wish to do the right thing.

So I now have my official Trump hat.

It's the 'Make Space Great Again' version. I knew something had been shipped from the Trump campaign for me, didn't know what.

It's like Trump knows I'm a giant space nerd and sci-fi fan.

It's become evident that trying to be a voice in the middle is pointless on this forum.

Almost everyone already has entrenched ideological positions, sees compromise as a 4-letter word, and most only care about the 'culture war', not effective governance or trying to heal divides.

This site is becoming a dark mirror of SBs worst bits with increasing speed.

I've realized that the base of both sides of American politics are as tribal as ever, and only want the center to echo what they think, not criticize their sacred cows.

I have a home on neither the Right or Left, because they both only tolerate dissent when they feel safe and sure they will win.

It's weird, but this whole virus has given me a purpose I never thought I'd have; helping people understand how to fight a common enemy that does not discriminate. Even people who's politics piss me off, and those people who are pissed off by my politics, deserve to be as safe as possible from this scourge.

I am so fucking tired of fighting a battle I can never win, for a life where I have little reason to fight, and still having people expect me to be self-sacrificing and just trudge on regardless.
