For something like Life Drain to be effective outside of one-on-one examples, you'd need a Force user on par with Legends Palpatine, Vitiate, or Naga Sadow. The rarity of such Users existing in the first place aside, you're also talking about an entire dimension here where the Force may not even exist and have a "Vong Effect", and even then it may be beyond their scope.
Their best hope would be to engineer a Force-based Dark Side plague and hope that it actually does something to 8472, which it might because Space Magic is an OOCP for regular biology (which 8472 has, albeit to a point where it's on a bullshit tier).
Additionally, Fluidic Space shares 8472's genetic makeup -- the same makeup which basically laughs at anything biological, technological, and chemical and was only "breached" due to convolutive plot armour ("We don't assimilate, we investigate, which is how we were able to turn the nanoprobes which the Borg failed at using despite being the fucking Borg into a viable weapon in days by using Trek technobabble!").
The only time we've seen bioships destroyed, outside of the aforementioned stupid plot armour of Voyager's modified nanoprobes, was when a Borg Cube sacrificed itself by crashing into one. A Borg Cube. Which 8472 destroys in just one to three shots.
Blasters may have some effect, given that they're superheated plasma at 20,000 Celsius (lightsabers too, since they're superheated blades of plasma) and that heat must do some damage, but we've seen 8472 being hit from everything from kinetic to radiation to exotic energy weaponry (such as the Hirogen's tetryon radiation weapons), and it tooks months for one to be worn down enough to be gravely injured.
Then, given a few hours interrupted, it was basically healing at a slow, steady rate (enough to actually go from "dying animal" back to "ripping Hirogen's face off"); give it a few days and it'd likely have been back to full health.
Their bioships are fast, and while they have accuracy as good as a Stormtrooper on a good day, they're incredibly destructive. They'd pop ISD's like balloons. and just a small group of them can destroy planets.
So, yeah; outside of Force shenanigans and blasters may perhaps being effective because of the heat, the Star Wars Galaxy's chances are... well, yeah.
This isn't "wank", it's what we've seen 8472 do on-screen. They're just that bullshit.
