Will this result in Lula to get reelected in 2026?Yeah me too.

That happened during the Rousseff administration.Antônio José de Abreu Vidal Filho, a Brazilian military police officer was convicted of eleven murders (as well as torture and attempted murder of three others) in reprisal for the death of a fellow law enforcement officer. The incident was known as the "Curio Massacre" and has implicated around twenty Brazilian police officers. Antonio, attending the trial remotely apparently, was sentenced to over 275 years in prison last June. Interpol issued a red notice soonafter for him and he was arrested at his (newer) home in Rye,New Hampshire, having apparently fled to the United States back in 2019.

Basically Brazil is fucked for the foreseeable future correct ?I'd say there is a reasonably good chance of the next MBT of the Brazilian Army being the Chinese VT4 - the Brazilian Army already sent some people to check on them. It wouldn't be my choice, or the Brazilian Army's(the requirements for a future MBT fairly scream 'We want a Type 10'), but if things keep going the way they are....

Since Trump wins reelection in 2024, I doubt Lula gets reelected in 2026. Big question is whether Ecuador is stupid enough to bring Jackass Correa back to the Presidential Palace ?Even with a good economy we might be headed towards troubled times because of how Lula's handling things internally.
Lula's power seems to be limited however, I remember how I overheard progressive-liberals that complained about "Bolsonarist" individuals getting into places of considerable power despite Lula and how homophobia wasn't made equal as racism into Brazilian law. So Lula doesn't have total control (yet)
But @gral and @Sobek might have a better perspective.
It is amazes me how Lula was the favorite candidate of the USA.
I guess really it comes to a few hyphothesis :
- Whoever in the USA helped him was deranged and wanted to get rid of Trump of the Tropics and didn't care to get a Russophile and Sinophile into office (even though it seemed that even LULA criticized China)
- Whoever helped in the USA didn't do a basic research of what I said above
- Whoever helped him didn't give a shit because Bolsonaro looked much more antiglobalist than Lula
- Whoever helped him Ă ctuĂ lly knew what would happen in terms of geopolitics around the world and probably is a serious backstabber Ă nd in bed
- Lula had a much better PR in the US than Bolsonaro...& convinced everyone who mattered to help him
- The voting mĂ chines were obviously doctored

It is thĂ nkfully one of few good pros of the continent Ă gĂ inst its mĂ ny cons.south america and I know this sounds weird to say is one of the most stable geo political areas on the planet. Most of the conflicts in south america are internal conflicts and countries actually fighting each other is pretty rare, Brazil will still exist and be relatively fine.

Hopefully it will last enough for me being Ă ble to raise children.
Speaking of which, aren't our neighbors having elections this or the next year? One of the candidates is actually talking about de-dollarizing just like our country...and they are joining BRICS.if south america ever got its economic and political act together the region would actually do quite well for themselves Expecially Argentina if the Argentines ever got 10 years of decent leadership they could become a rich developed nation.
