And hardware alone doesn't win and tech alone doesn't win, etc. You need numbers, hardware, tech, information, and know-how (aka professional military with competent logistics behind) to win. And even then, the enemy has a vote.Numbers are important. But they have to be used properly to matter.
Again, the whole thing is numbers alone do not win...
The enemy has a vote. That is correct. And hardware alone doesn't win and tech alone doesn't win, etc. You need numbers, hardware, tech, information, and know-how (aka professional military with competent logistics behind) to win. And even then, the enemy has a vote.
Second line of defense? lol.Further Advances reportedly Being made in the Robotnye Area towards Russians second line of defense.
Any military planner I know considers dug in troops a 'line of defense'.Second line of defense? lol.
Now we are redefining the grey zone as first line?

I'm sorry this is happening to you lol.
If Surovikin had such great ideas that are totally stopping Ukrainian advance, why was he arrested? What is supposed to be happening to me?
I do confess to being outraged watching NATO 'advisors' force the Ukrainians to suffer thousands of dead to take a few tiny villages in the grey zone.
The first actual part of the surovikin line is a dozen Km south of Robotyne.
Then there are several more lines behind that..dragons teeth, trenchlines, minefields and pillboxes. It took Ukraine this long to take its tiny scraps in the areas with the least heavy defenses using a kind of slow motion human wave assault. Im not sure how they will deal with the first part of the surovikin line once they reach it.
Then rejoice! This is not happening. Ukraine is acting according to the will of its own people, free of NATO coercion but in the face of Russian coercion.I do confess to being outraged watching NATO 'advisors' force the Ukrainians to suffer thousands of dead to take a few tiny villages in the grey zone.
Idiotic statement tbh. Just ask the Germans at Kursk how stupid fixed defenses are. Or the Ukrainians right now.If Surovikin had such great ideas that are totally stopping Ukrainian advance, why was he arrested?

Did Putin finally get to reading Patton?
Yeah, Patton didn't know shit, you're the military expertIdiotic statement tbh. Just ask the Germans at Kursk how stupid fixed defenses are. Or the Ukrainians right now.
3 months of grisly grinding and for what? a tiny village they dont fully control yet.
Operational commanders on both sides will know the math: if the Ukrainian army is 90km from the Sea of Azov, and MLRS has a maximum range of 90km but needs to be placed 10km behind the frontline, then the Ukrainians must advance another 10km southward to cover all the terrain between them and the Sea of Azov.
Ukraine is now closing in on this goal at several spots along the frontline, offering the possibility that its rocket artillery will be able to strike the Russian land bridge from different angles.
Once this happens, there is (forgive the use of this old term) a domino effect. All east-west roads and railroads will be in range, and at this point, Russian private companies will no longer be interested in risking their drivers and $150,000 trucks for a $700 cargo payment from Mariupol to Kherson oblast.
Russia has used civilian haulage contractors for many months now and offers good rates. But the chance of an artillery strike changes the calculation, creating the risk of driver deaths and financial disaster.
A modern private 18-meter truck can carry 15–30 tons of supplies, compared to a Russian Army Kamaz truck, which can carry only a few tons in an unstructured pile on the truck bed. Private companies can, of course, be ordered, nationalized, or otherwise coerced to supply the army, but that carries its own risk of disenchantment or outright anger aimed at the Kremlin.

I really don't think Ukrainians have been Zap Brannigan'ing it like the Russians did at Vuhledar, we would've seen a lot more shots of destroyed Ukrainian vehicles if that was the case and the Russians would be crowing about piles of bodies the same as they did with the Leopard tanks and Bradleys they knocked out in the first days of the offensive. As well the videos of the Ukrainians taking Robotyne showed the same small squads that the last months of videos have shown.Idiotic statement tbh. This war has gone from the high limit room to penny slots, little wagered and little gained or lost.
Uh...They are sending in nonstop attacks, a company at a time. One company gets chewed up, they send in another. One of the more cynical things they are doing is assaulting a trench and forcing the Russians to withdraw. Then they withdraw the assault unit and stick a unit of mobiks or territorials in the trench, because they know russian doctrine is pound the trench with artillery. The mobiks gets chewed up, but the trench is now unusable by the Russians.
