Hate to say it, but I hated gate. It's a great idea done badly, IMO. So I'd love to read good fic, but I'd expect those to be crossovers/something radically different, w/o the main character, just the setting.Ok, we all know Gate, we all love Gate, we all agree who best gitrl is.
So, time to make list of all the best fanfics, and perhaps breed a few warrior plot bunnies that can grow into more great fanfics.
Well, you can always take the premise and have a totally different universe meet the Saderans.Hate to say it, but I hated gate. It's a great idea done badly, IMO. How about Gate: Thus the Saderans Fought the Khaleesi. Or any other area of the Game of Thrones/A Song of Fire and Ice Universe timeline or Location.
TBH I prefer it when the Saderans have to deal with interesting, technologically advanced enemies.Or crossover of Gate and Elder Scrolls, or Warcraft, or Warhammer Fantasy Classic, not Age of Sigmar though as its shit. You aren't scamming one buck out me Games Workshop, never again. "Splurges a few thousand bucks on a new Primaris Army like a chump."
Elder Scrolls would probably work easiest in that Gates opening up there is nothing new and could be chalked up to Sheogorath getting a laugh or something along those lines. The Gate world could be a different Kalpa to explain why their magic may not work the same ect.
Or it could be a legit "adjacent place", different plane of Mundus (could possible in the cosmology), or maybe, just maybe an entirely different dream- but that would require some finagling to work. But, yes, such things are easily workable. And I'd feel sorry for Gate, because TES is one of those trap settings, like Equestria. It looks far weaker than it actually is, both settings are meat grinders.
The reason I said different Kalpa is because Akavir is basically a different one further in the future, Thats part of the reason they have repeatedly beat the crap out of Tameriel in the lore. In this case Tameriel would be the more advanced kalpa beating up on a younger one.
Bonus points if any LotR crossover wrecks Amazon's little project's universe. The Gate opens up on Arda (LOTR) First Age after The Nirnaeth Arnoediad commences and slams into Morgoth's Rear, convincing Ulfang to renege on his deal with Morgoth.
"Kicks back and laughs"
The Gate alternatively opens up in the Second Age on Numenor as Sauron in brought to it.
Or the Gate opens up at the Pelenor Fields just as Aragorn and Eomer have won the day and slam into their exhausted forces.
Or the fun, the shenanigans, and... Wait... Rory and Gandalf teaming up...
...
...
Ah, I'm not the Insurance Carrier for Arda and not responsible for the property damage.
Amazon's shitty fanfiction already doesn't follow from the setting.Bonus points if any LotR crossover wrecks Amazon's little project's universe.

Ah, figures.
I'd still like to see that overpriced fanfic demolished.
Speaking of popular fantasy franchises, what do you all think of crossing Gate with The Witcher?
I have only seen a bit of the TV show, and I couldn't get into the game because the controls were kinda meh.
They have some pretty powerful magic which can probably offset some of the Saderans' advantage?
Humm, maybe this warrants a Vs./What if thread of its own.I only read books - but, unless Saderans,Witcher world mages was efficient on battlefield.
Doesn't Gate have little meddling gods? Crossing a setting like that over with LotR means putting them up against one of the really big fish. There aren't many genuine ex nihilo cosmic creators in fiction. Eru is one of them. And he cares about his creation, at least as an artist.
So any LotR crossover that gets near the cosmology has to answer the question of why Eru is letting some interlopers interrupt his grand opera.

Aside from the Apostles, the Gate Gods have no dominion outside their world and can't go to Arda. But just think about it. Rory traveling with Gandalf who already has a bit of a dodgy reputation. Just imagine it.
I thought that his main idea was to create a replacement mythology for the British Isles because the Normans destroyed the records.Tolkien was catholic, and created kind of catholic world - only before Deluge.Gandalf is angel of God here,so he do not use force to get his goals only becouse God command him to respect people Free Will.
But,when some apostles of petty gods come and try doing shit,he could use his full power.Which mean, that there would be nothing of Rory left if she picked fight.

That would make it sort of pagan fanfiction.
