That's because they pick their enemies carefully, and because they usually have more freedom of operation far from the eyes of the press, and less say for their own population. None of these advantages means anything in a conventional war with a western country.

But they won and that is all that matters. You can say XYZ, but at the end of the day, Putin is drinking your wine, eating your food, smoking your cigars, and screwing your mistress, all while flipping you off.

Also the Taliban say hi.

There is a difference between a game of chicken like we did back in 2018, and going to war with them. and I don’t recall Israel ever fighting a major nuclear power beyond a minor skirmish with soviet advisors in the Egyptian Air Force We will try to screw them diplomatically and with other means, they do the same, but neither of the big boys will attack each other we are in the great game.

A game of Chicken that was irrelevant and Russia wound up winning anyway. Same thing when they had a hot spat with Turkey in Syria as well. Cause while everyone gushed at all the gear Turkish Drones were taking out, the Russian backed Syrian Forces kept all their gains.

I assumed 2016 was a joke, Also Russia epic failed against Georgia

Epic failed? Russia could have conquered all of Georgia had it wanted to, no?

And 2016 is a semi-joke. I write semi- because Democrats and the Left actually believe in this! :D

Not as much as you would think, the goal was to end talk to them joining NATO, and since that war the talk of it has died.

He also expelled Georgia from the parts of Abkazia and South Ossetia that it still controlled before the war, such as the Kodori Valley:

No it's not? We're talking about whether Russia is a direct threat to the west, right? What does it matter if they won a few symbolic invasions against very incapable foes, by carpet bombing everything in sight? What meaning does this carry in regards to Russia threatening the West?

And I'm not American.

Chechen special battalion in the forests around Kiev, ready to greet them. 😂

The Georgians and Ukrainians can't exactly be called pushovers, they did fight hard after all, alas the Russians broke them quickly.

The Syrian Rebels and ISIS actually stood up well. Then again, few Russian Ground Troops participated and mostly in the artillery and air support role. Had Russia deployed a MRD or Tank Division, things would have ended quicker. But then the Air Force and Artillery wouldn't have had their chance to practice and justify their budgets.

To be fair the Taliban didn't do anything until the Americans left while the Americans were there they lost every confrontation.

Korengal Valley was a Taliban Victory, US abandoned it. Battle of Nawzad was a draw. Battle of Wanat was also a Taliban victory that forced the US to abandon it. Those were stand up fights.

The US reliance on airpower instead of a balanced military doctrine that accepts losses in order to gain rapid dominance is a massive hindrance to winning wars.

In fact I would say the US due to fighting the War on Terror instead of training for mass warfare, against a foe with a functioning integrated air defense like Russia, will get defeated rather quickly.

We can turn that around, but we need to be honest with ourselves and make hard decisions instead of being jingoistic.

As @Agent23 mentioned, most of them are professionals, and in fact 1/3 of the yearbook is drafted, usually the best, and then the best are sought out to join the army permanently. A simple and clever system to have large reserves and at the same time not to keep unnecessary morons.
Yes, it also has the added benefit of kicking and screaming the soyboy out of at least part of the male Russian population.
Instead they learn how to deal with authority properly, by
1) Carrying random box around all day.
2) When a superior asks them why they aren't doing any work they say somebody higher up than said superior told them to carry it around.

Also, glorious manly pass time of lighting one's canned beans-induced farts on fire competitively.

Frankly, both behaviors are more rational and productive than what your average SJWNPC college grad with a degree in Feminist Dance Therapy does all day.

It wasnt the government that did that, Russians just can’t afford to be stupid we have an illness brought on by wealth.

SJWitis is older and broader than the current situation in the West.
They were known under other names, Nichilists, Bohemians, the usual upper middle class pseudo-intellectuals dwelling in coffee shops.

The Georgians weren't pushovers? Fought hard? They essentially abandoned their tanks and ran without a fight as I recall.

Ukraine is not broken yet, and so far seems to be capable of bloodying the Russian's nose just fine.

The Syrian Rebels and ISIS actually stood up well. Then again, few Russian Ground Troops participated and mostly in the artillery and air support role. ISIS still exists and have attacked Syrian forces literally this month. If that's what you consider a victory, then the US absolutely DESTROYED the Taliban, since it broke their grip over the country much faster and with much less reliance on proxy forces (the Syrians, Hezbollah, Kurds), and no other superpower shouldering part of the burden (the US).

If the Russians ever intended to leave (higher ability to say "fuck you" to theor own population's wishes, being a dictatorship and all) we would've seen how long it would've taken ISIS to take vast swathes of Syria again. My guess is: not long.

Not even going to talk about Saddam's Iraq, which the US absolutely flattened.

If you're going to compare an invasion to an occupation, then you're a propagandist and we have nothing to talk about. Either compare an invasion to an invasion, an occupation to an occupation, or GTFO.

In fact I would say the US due to fighting the War on Terror instead of training for mass warfare, against a foe with a functioning integrated air defense like Russia, will get defeated rather quickly.

Whatever you say mr. armchair general.

What are you a Russia dick sucker or something?
Merely an observer of reality.

Anyway:
Ukraine’s Interior Ministry: "The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reports that due to the imposition of martial law in Ukraine, the departure of a certain category of citizens from Ukraine is temporarily restricted.

In particular, male citizens of Ukraine aged 18 to 60 are prohibited from leaving Ukraine.

Such a rule will apply for the period of martial law.

We ask citizens to take this information into account."

Lol, the victorious patriotic Ukrainians are doing so well they must order their border guards to stop men over 55 from dodging the draft by leaving the country.

Also this is fucking sexist, waminz need to do their share of the fighting, zomg discrimination!!!!111!!! #Triggered

I think he is Russian or from the balkans many countries in which tend to favor the Russian side on these matters.
It's from Bulgaria, by chance I managed to hit where it's from the first time.
And they rather have a positive attitude towards Russia, hell if I remember correctly it was the Ruskies who liberated them from the Sultan's boot.

correct, yeah the Russians claimed the role of defender of the Christians in the balkans which was one of the factors that caused them to side with Serbia vs. Austria.
