I'm old enough to remember when HIV was called GRID and a woman or young child getting it was a "How the fuck did that happen?" because only promiscuous gay men got "Gay Related Immunity Disorder".

There were a lot of fuck ups in the aids crisis.
People not sharing needles would have helped, people not eating african bush meat would have helped, people scanning the blood donations would have helped. Facui not lying about aids drugs would have helped.
We really should have fired and kicked him out of any sort of power after that bullshit alone.

AIDS is an insidious disease because it can quietly lurk in someone's bloodstream and destroy their immune system without them even knowing they're infected for years on end.If only they'd kept their dicks in their pants, humanity could have had one less plague.

Indeed. It is fortunate that the Lord blessed us thousands of years ago with one simple trick by which a population can avoid incubating and spreading such a dangerous virus.
There were a whole host of fuck ups with HIV, and we clearly learned nothing from it.

It wasn't vaccinations. It was blood transfusions back when we had no way of detecting HIV and that wasn't just in Africa.

Blood transfusions were a problem in the 80s in many nations, but it would not surprise me if re-use of needles in Africa was also a factor. Facing challenging (to say the least...) public health situations in less prosperous African nations, medical personnel would have been sorely tempted to take 'short-cuts' like re-using needles to address known problems (of which there were many) in the hope that whatever unknown threats the needle sharing would propagate would be less serious than known life-threatening conditions.
People seem to forget that there were also people who had AIDS that deliberately hid the fact and some rad greens who had AIDS even pretended to be interested in CEO's of groups they hated, so they could get intimate with them and infect them with AIDS in revenge for whatever their perceived crime was.

This is why the FDA won't let us use if here; it would allow us to effectively ignore the virus, instead of force the vaxs. The vax's are still under Emergency Use Authorizations, not full approval. EUA's which would no longer apply if something like ivermectin shows it can actually stop the virus by helping most people deal with the virus, without needs for vaxs.
The virus may not be a bioengineered depop scheme, at least on it's own, but it is most a money-making machine for some industries and a wonderful excuse for a powergrab from others.
