China Wuhan Virus Pandemic

So you remember that Polish pastor who kicked the police out of his church? Well, as predicted, the Canadian government has decided it's going to arrest him:

I wonder what Court of Queen’s Bench Justice David Gates thinks this is going to look like? Pastor Artur Pawlowski has made this situation viral enough that if they do arrest him half the planet's going to know. Between this and the Grace Life church, I think it was, there's going to be some Christian organizations asking some very pointed question of the Canadian government about where their priorities lay.

At any rate, make sure the judge's name gets passed around. Cretinous bureaucrats get a bit more hesitant to abuse the law when they face any consequences for their actions.

Brazil's Regulatory Authorities unanimously rejected Russia's Sputnik V vaccine over allegedly unresolved quality issues, recommending against importation.

Sixty one countries have used the Russian vaccine amd Russia claims a 97.6% effectiveness. The Russian vaccine program has faced criticism more over the diplomatic efforts swirling around its release, especially the marketing campaign tactics used on social media.

As dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, the vaccine scientist says Sputnik V’s propaganda is unprecedented — even compared to the showdowns at the height of the Cold War.

While vaccine research was a point of pride for scientists in the Communist bloc — and former Soviet-aligned countries were preferred during vaccine distributions — there was always cooperation between the two sides. That included the shared development of an oral polio vaccine and a shot against smallpox between the West and the former Communist countries, Hotez said.

“We've always had, you know, this very carefully orchestrated system of global governance around vaccines,” he added.

Hotez said he wasn’t questioning the integrity of his Russian counterparts. But he worried about how the Kremlin was championing Sputnik V compared to its Western rivals and their vaccines.

“The vaccines may be good vaccines, but they've sort of bypassed all the traditional global governance we have around vaccines,” he said. “What you're seeing coming out of Russia is really ignominious behavior.”

How fucked are they?
I am once again of mind, as I was initially with Wuhan flu, that the 'mutant' diseases are being overreported on and dramatized because it gets newspapers and media clicks/views/sales (and that it can be pointed to by politicos and administrative officials to shift blame and excuse their own mistakes or heavy-handedness is a convenient side-benefit).

Probably real concern to be had about India and China simply because they're breeding grounds for shitty viruses and lack a lot of infrastructure of healthcare delivery anyways...And, since China's a black book of lying, self-absorbed communist charlatans trying to cover their own ass, even the 'watch how they respond for indication of how serious things are' can't be relied upon for much.

I'm waiting to see if they'll cover up their cremation practices.

It is sad seeing how this pandemic is tearing through India, especially after having it managed fairly decently considering the challenges a country that large typically has to overcome.

How fucked are they?

Resident Evil 6 actually predicted all of this. C-Virus and everything.

So the NYT is doing it's usual shit and trying to act like the pandemic will never end because certain people say we will never get 'herd immunity'. Which is blatantly false, and only was printed to try to make people accept the pandemic restrictions on our rights and liberties as the 'new normal'.

The biggest mistake Trump ever made was allowing the lockdowns and allowing that backstabber Pence and that fraud Fauci to control the pandemic response.

No, they got practice for what they were going to do in 2018 in Arizona, so they'd been planning it for a while. It doesn't matter who people would have actually voted for one way or another. About the only difference is that it might have been slightly more obvious in that there would have been more votes than voters in more places, but it still would have been hand-waved away.

Well...you got to give them an A for initiative.

...
'Shot for a shot' would be such a better tagline. Gotta be some craft spirits distilleries in New Jersey who'd be willing to jump on that kind of initiative, right?

Though it raises the question of whether anyone trying for the free beer actually gets a free beer made by the distillery...Or if the microbreweries involved keep a bucket of the cheapest Schlitz (or Corona I suppose, for full-circle irony) they can on-hand to give them.

Also, as I've mentioned with vaccine 'passport' ideas...Faking a shot record would be hilariously easy so, I mean...If anyone in the New Jersey area wants to investigate this free beer initiative, you can get vaccinated or find a vaccine card and do your best scrawl of a doctor-signature on it for a free beer...Just saying.
...Hell, if you get creative maybe someone can organize a poker run between these breweries. Bring your vaccination card to each one! Or a new one to each one if they have some sort of attempted policy of discouraging such!
*hums away*
God bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer, beer, beer, biddly, beer, beer, beer...

To be vaguely serious I suppose...Seems somewhat cross-purpose to health to encourage alcohol consumption. Like, especially with how the disease goes after obesity and beer has a tendency for, uh, well...'beer gut' got its name somehow.

This is not the first time we've seen reports of menstruation issues related to taking the vaccine. Never heard of the regular flu shot doing this, or any of the regular vaccines either.
