Yeah: it's like that poor woman who cut her hand on a used bread-knife while washing-up years back, and she caught "flesh-eating" bacteria that cost her a few fingers, IIRC? Outliers.

Yup. And maybe Wu Flu will have a significantly higher rate of lethal outliers than most other diseases; we just don't know yet, so letting ourselves get hysterical is counterproductive.

Just like how hysteria is always counterproductive.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again; the turning point for all of this is going to be how many develop immunity to the Corona virus after contracting it. If it's not enough, people will just keep getting sick over and over again, and I'm worried that even those who show no symptoms the first time might not be so lucky the second.

Could also be nurses working non-Corona wards. The medical apparatus hasn't ground to a complete halt in all other areas after all. Granted this isn't much better but at least then they'd only be leaving the regular long term patients hanging instead of the people hospitalized by the new and not totally understood pandemic.

But... Aren't they super over worked? Are they letting people die to go protest? Or are they lying about the work to bitch ayt Orange Man? This makes no sense.
So as far as I know, most hospital workers work on a system of being on and off for days at a time, followed by a number of days of break to stop burnout. Stopping burnout is really vital with this, as it is going to stress hospitals long term. So they are probably using that time to protest. There's nothing wrong with that.

Nurses and doctors in wards dealing with kung-flu patients in hot zones are overworked, while nurses and doctors in nonessential wards that were shut down to prevent kung-flu spread have all the time in the world to make tok-tok videos and protest stuff.

Some new findings?

A new study by one of China's top scientists has found the ability of the new coronavirus to mutate has been vastly underestimated and different strains may account for different impacts of the disease in various parts of the world.

Professor Li Lanjuan and her colleagues from Zhejiang University found within a small pool of patients many mutations not previously reported. These mutations included changes so rare that scientists had never considered they might occur.

They also confirmed for the first time with laboratory evidence that certain mutations could create strains deadlier than others.

"Sars-CoV-2 has acquired mutations capable of substantially changing its pathogenicity," Li and her collaborators wrote in a non-peer reviewed paper released on preprint service medRxiv.org on Sunday.

Li's study provided the first hard evidence that mutation could affect how severely the virus caused disease or damage in its host.

Remdesivir is now being reported as a letdown in the opening trials, Gilead's stocks are taking a hit. Looks like HCQ will be the way forward. 🤡
