From what I've seen in stores around here... it kinda went like this order in things selling out in this rough order.
1. Toilet Paper
2. Hand Sanitizer/Hand Soap
3. Cleaning/Disinfectant Wipes/Spray
4. Spam (might be a Minnesota and Hawaii thing)
5. Canned Meats/Soups
6. Paper Towels
7. Baby Wipes
8. Bread
9. Kleenex/Facial Tissues
10. Frozen Vegetables
11. Sweetened Water (ie Pepsi) (it was 25% off sure but still... very desperate)
12. Water (probably just well supplied)

I can't speak to your area but I used to work in grocery retail and when the big sales hit the soda companies had to do multiple daily deliveries to keep up with demand sometimes. It could be less panic buying and more an early sign of logistics disruption. That or it could be the pepsi driver didn't make it for a dozen mundane reasons. We were chronically low on coke because the driver in our area was kind of spotty with making deliveries.

I think it's what the cartoonist sincerely believes - he's very anti big government.
The Chinese regime has probably been using the situation as an opportunity to "disappear" critics. There are no doubt people in the USA who think the same way.

There are people saying this 'escape' was an inside job - there are videos of the inmates simply walking away. But the press won't say shit about it, because the Governor of São Paulo State, in his bid for the Presidential Election of 2022, is using State money to buy the press.

Ever since the São Paulo State Police killed 111 inmates during a prison revolt in 1991, violent repression of those is taboo. As said before, the State Governor wishes to be President; there are things the press won't tolerate even if he's bribing them, and this one is high in the list. Make no mistake, if he thought he would earn more political points by shooting the inmates, he would do it in an instant; in his short political career, the guy has shown he holds loyalty to himself only.
