It's related to the theory swirling around the net that the origin of the virus is from a lab so there's people who deny it as a crack pot theory despite the possibility and what previous reports of lab related incidents.

The timing of the Chinese spy couple booted from that Canadain bio-lab, what they were purported to have been handling/knowledgable of, and where they supposedly ended up back in China has an almost Clancy-esque level of 'spy vs spy' type air to it. Particularly so soon after the first phase of the US-China trade deal was agreed to.

That's not to say the bats couldn't be the source; those things have a lot of nasty shit living with them. It's just the timing makes the whole scenario look...serendipitous.

Sadly China's high population is not helping the matter. Despite what the PRC tries to portray. China is not really all that first world. Many aspects of Chinese cites are less sanitary than 19th Century New York City. Open wet meat markets of questionable sanitation. People spitting, Pissing and taking a dump in the streets in many areas. And the packed conditions is a perfect storm for this virus. This could get messy.

So when do they start ordering a “shoot anyone who tries to leave or enter onsite” quarantine policy?

The CCP has the will and wherewithal to implement such a thing. But it would no doubt cause great unrest and outcry.

Hopefully things won’t get that desperate, but if the virus spreads to the point that it might destabilize or even topple the government, I have no doubt the Chicoms would take any measure no matter how condemned they get for it in the west.
