Just because a trial is randomized and placebo-controlled, that doesn’t mean that all bias is miraculously gone. You can always make antivirals for COVID-19 appear to fail if your trials only enroll people who don’t even have any virus left in their bodies.
Scientists are not stupid. They know this.
