A Shit Ton. Because some people literally have no common sense. Oh they have a Masters Degree in a field. But those same people run around like chickens with their heads cut off getting tons of shit they can't eat our will go bad. While the guy who never went to college an works as a plumber gets the canned beans and rice. This Corona mess is putting a spotlight on the people in society who really smart and really dumb.

Meanwhile I've long since gotten used to figuring out which perishables last long enough that hoarding them a bit makes sense (my family often went a month or more between trips to the store to pick up food); like cheese, for example. Cheese can last months in the fridge, especially if you avoid pre-shredded/sliced; and even if it does get a bit of mold on it, you can just cut it off and the rest is perfectly safe to eat.

In Nigeria? That country is already in a smouldering civil war between it's Islamic north and Christian south. Boko Haram are bad news. But I'm no expert on the matter.

Here in South Africa, a long way off from Nigeria, we've had some reports of heavy-handed actions by police, but breaking the curfew without good reason would get you a hefty fine, not a bullet.
