"Woke" Franchises

I've seen the future...
I actually find the comparison to the way leftists have infiltrated fandoms and taken them over to the way The Thing takes over a person to be quite apt as well. Kind of makes me want to make my own parody of that computer model Wilford Brimley's character was watching. :D

Man is the warmest place to hide.

B-but I thought having black people portray bad guys was reecist? 😲

In other news, Peter Dinklage is a moron who not only never actually watched Snow White, but apparently doesn't understand that Dwarves are a mythical race in the same sense as Elves, and are not vertically challenged humans like himself.

It would be hilarious if his little social justice whine ends up completely ruining any chance he or other little people have of ever getting cast in anything again.

FWIW, the terms "dwarves" and "midgets" are both considered offensive nowadays. They prefer the use of the term "short people" instead.

I imagine fellow midgets in the entertainment industry, who aren't nearly as established in their careers as Dinklage, are fantasizing about chocking the life out of him right about now; because he's essentially torpedoing any hope of them getting work in the near future, just so that he can win a few points with the Woke crowd.

A quick and succinct summary of the fail of Amazon's the Wheel of Time (really quick and not indepth for those of you who don't have the time to watch all those one hour rants people have put out on the topic).

Why do they let rando morons with next to no experience do these things, anyways?

With 80 mil you'd think they can hire writers with some real experience that know the genre.

Yeah, the problem cuts a bit deeper. Amazon Studios have an institutionalized diversity policy demanding representation regardless of whether it makes sense in and around the filmed properties.

"Each film or series with a creative team of three or more people in above-the-line roles (Directors, Writers, Producers) should ideally include a minimum 30% women and 30% members of an underrepresented racial/ethnic group. This aspirational goal will increase to 50% by 2024. Casting actors whose identity (gender, gender identity, nationality, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability) aligns with the character they will be playing. Aiming to include one character from each of the following categories in speaking roles, with minimum 50% of these to be women: LGBTQIA+, person with a disability, and three regionally underrepresented race/ethnic/cultural groups. A single character can fulfill one or more of these identities. Seeking at least three bids from vendors or suppliers on productions, one of which must be from a woman-owned business and one from a minority-owned business. Pay equity across casting, behind the camera staff and crew, and for vendors and suppliers."
