Maybe they will bring back those expensive shop classes to high schools. They were legitimately useful, shame they mostly got cut out of existence.
I still don't see how this is. The shop classes (Welding, Auto, Wood) were major ones in my high school, hell, nursing as well. All were known for getting people what they need for such careers.

Was I just that lucky?

Yes, you were. Nursing aside, those aren't college prep and not a high priority for educators to keep offering when the budget gets tight and things must be dropped. They're expensive to offer when compared to classes which only require textbooks, an available classroom, and a teacher.

I would never have thought, the Georgian Public Education was that good

Essentially the sole function of modern collage besides being a propaganda mill is decades of propaganda claiming everyone needs a degree as a prerequisite for gainful employment. But if there is no gainful employment anyway, degree or no degree, then it just becomes a waste of money.
I would say that some college education or trade school is a good thing but the idea that you need a college degree to manage a McDonald's (which a lot of managers and assistant managers do have) is taking things way too far.

Anyone know what this is about?

Edit: NVM found it.

Heh, those fuckers can't stop lying.

Sad thing is, the consequence of the insider trading does not seem to be meaningful consequences for the insiders -- they keep their ill-gotten gains. Instead, money is transferred from a property owned by all the shareholders (the company) to lawyers and select shareholders who got in on the action.

That is because the SEC is in bed with Wall Street. It's why 2008 was not investigated as deeply.

Unfortunately shop class was always part of "agricultural education" around where I'm from, and I had no interest in the agricultural parts so I missed out on the useful shop stuff.

I was fortunate enough to go to a magnet school in Chicago, then Lane Tech, now Lane Tech College Prep and tossed out a lot of the shop classes and the work apprentice program while they were at it. Kids don't know what they lost History - Lane Tech College Prep

My siblings and I went to private schools that did not offer such things. The first black girl I met had braided cornrows back when we were in 1st grade. She is my wife. She was born in Oregon but spent much of her childhood in Indonesia and Jamaica. My twin sis is married to a guy who grew up in East Saint Louis. They're both mixed race.

There is a reason I think France might be able to save the western world if the US cannot unfuck itself.

The french's gleeful hipocracy and utter lack of fucks is pretty much their biggest asset at times.
I'd add their arrogance to that list as well.

Those can also be a huge liability because "plays well with others" is not something one would typically use to describe someone French.
