What are you playing currently?

Will make sure to get that!

Btw, is there an easy way to get rid of the fucking mutts without waiting for someone to come around and kick them off me?

Last game I was kinda far from the rest of the squad because of my phone, and one jumped me, only thing that dsvrd me was a frigging pox buster. :ROFLMAO:
You basically need to try and shoot them before they get on you. Otherwise, the only way you get them off you is if someone else kills it.

Maxed Ogryn, but I still need better weapons for hym and the Psyker.

Need to do the Zealot soon, too.

So, is anyone here playing Armored Core 6?

All of my weeb friends are going gaga over it, but after playing some other mecha games which will stay unmentioned I am skeptical about the genre.

Yes. I've loved the AC series since I discovered the original on PS1. So I'm not a good canary to be honest. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

My partner has repeatedly announced they're quitting the game on the Third Boss. It's a real All You Need is Kill situation.

You damn right I am, it's great being back in the saddle.

Also LOLing hard at noobs coming in from Soulsborne askin' "Are we the baddies?"

Son, you are now an AC protagonist, we've always just been here for the paycheck. *proceeds to gun down some Amuro Ray wannabe over and over so I can purchase that sweet shoulder-mounted grenade launcher*

EDIT: I've also noticed a bunch of comments all over the intertubes from Soulsborne players (and some players who stopped playing the series at around AC3) about having trouble getting used with verticality and moving in all three dimensions in the AC6 fights.

... They can't jump?

Soulsborne?
What is their problem, I thought that series was massively morally ambiguous.

Not too much jumping in the Dark Souls series combat, so they're not too used to it. My experience with AC was why I had no problem incorporating jumps into my fighting style in Elden Ring

Honestly I'm more surprised there's not much bitching about no i-frames with the quick boost.

Well, the AC series tends to lean quite a bit more on the darker side of gray. Also, as I said, your starting motivation in AC is more on the "gotta get paid" side of things as opposed to "restore/preserve the world," "cure myself," "serve/save/protect my master," or "get married and become a demigod", which is why I'm guessing many Soulsborne players tend to be a bit surprised when we get hired by the corpos to gun down people protecting their home.

The lack of I frames has messed me up SO many times. XD I've been trained to wait for the last moment to dodge, so I dodge through the attack with the I frames and that doesn't work anymore.

Yeah AC games have always had the MC as just another bad guy.

Yup, it's something people new to AC have to learn. The repair kits are a new thing to AC to make it easier for non-AC veterans.

As for morality, well, there are some AC games where you can make a "good guy" choice, it's just that you'll wind up doing something horrific in the process, because it ends up being, you know, the trolley problem, LOL.

I like the idea of the repair kits, I just wish they weren't like instant heals. If they were a slow repair time or something I would like them in the lore more.

But yes, they were added, along with target lock. (Thank fuck for target lock. I love this change.) To make the battles faster.

I'll keep an eye on it when it goes on sale. I think I only played around with in-store demos at K-mart or Shopko when it comes to AC. I would get it but a friend of mine decided we should go to the Renfair and spend loads of money on overpriced but delicious mead and turkey drumsticks. if people are still positive about the game when winter steam sales roll around I will pick it up.
