It might just be my inner Dark Angel, but I feel like "this faction thinks things through" and "this faction picked a fight with the Inquisition by questioning their authority" maybe shouldn't be used to describe the same group of people.

Though in fairness to the wolves, that particular bit of fluff was really, really stupid.

I hope they release more spacemarine free sets, piety and pain looks super cool and I like the idea of collecting a smattering of all factions

I'm hoping that too, though it's more because if they come out with more space marine free sets, that lowers the odds of them sticking a useful marine model in one of them and never releasing a standard kit. There still isn't another way to get a primaris ancient. gravis captain, or suppressor outside of buying the big kits (and only the former two can be easily kitbashed).

With Arch Warhammer's account hacked/deleted on Youtube, until that situation is resolved, he's uploading his new lore videos to the alternative video site Rumble.

It ain't Youtube, but it's serviceable... at least on a desktop. (y)

I need to make me a lasgun for cosplay

Got a particular pattern in mind? I might be able to point you in the right direction if you're looking to convert something.

Speaking of converting, I got a hold of some more conventional models (an He111 and an M4 high speed tractor) that I was planning to use for a 40k conversion, and looking at the design of those kits, I'm really seeing why people say GW stuff is simplistic in comparison (though oddly comparable in price). The He111 kit comes with an entire engine assembly, hidden away inside the aircraft's skin with only the exhaust vents visible, whereas similar GW kits will just have a hollow plastic brick with some exhausts molded onto it.

That's great in terms of detail, but it also means it's a much bigger pain to paint, since I have to build the model in like a dozen different subassemblies paint them all, then glue the whole mess together, than paint all the joints. Whereas on a GW model, you can pretty easily build it all at once and then paint without issue, and even stuff like the interior can usually be done when the model is mostly done and will just need a few extra parts added to finish it. That He 111 Z build is going to be really fun, given how complicated the H16 is.

The other kits also, inexplicably, don't come with any crews. You can build the He 111 so it's got the landing gear up and is flying, but not so that it's got anyone actually flying it.....why?

Galaxy or Kentreal.

I'd go with a Longshot CS-6 (CS-12 if you don't want the bipod), but use the barrel extension off the Recon CS-6 in place of the secondary blaster on the longshot, and maybe a ten round magazine in place of the ones that come with those blasters.

Alright could work. I am also thinking of how to make one that also works in Airsoft

Good news, Arch got his channel back up!
https://www.youtube.com/c/ArchYouTube/featured

I recall it took Astartes like a month and half or something absurd to fix things, good thing we didn't have to wait that long this time.

Also, on the hobby front, I've nearly finished my long-neglected marine air wing, just have to finish painting one jet fighter, and then building and painting one fire raptor and one corvus blackstar that's standing in for a stormraven.

Speaking of the fire raptor...I have to say, of the GW/FW kits I own, it's easily one of the worst. Less due to part quality, and more because of side issues. The instructions are poorly made and unclear at several points (the landing gear is the most obvious issue, but several other parts have been hazy), A few parts don't fit together very well, even when properly shaped (such as the main engine blocks and the engine exhausts), and the design of the side turrets feels far too delicate, but the worst part is what comes in the kit itself.

It's a hybrid resin/plastic kit just like the storm eagle, using a mix of resin parts and plastic storm raven components. However, despite using only a handful of raven parts (mostly the wings, parts of the engine, part of the forward hull, and the cockpit), it comes with nearly the entire kit, (maybe even the entire kit, I don't have a normal storm raven so IDK), jacking up the overall price considerably because it includes a ton of parts that aren't needed on the final build. Though I guess if you can get replacements for the parts used on the build, you can can also build a storm raven at the same time, so there's a slight upside.

So, more news from GW. Dark angels codex supplement is coming out, previews are mostly showing off stuff that's close to the last edition rules. The big exception to that is the new doctrine which has been partially revealed:

I'm not super thrilled about, particularly because it doesn't apply to deathwing and they only hit on 5+, and I generally try to avoid melee if I can help it anyway. So I might up running my army as a successor chapter this edition, unless the other half of the chapter tactic is insanely strong.

Also, speaking of bolters, remember that nerf gun to bolt gun repaint?

I decided to do one of my own (and one as a gift for a friend), because I clearly don't have enough projects running right now. Ended up being very cheap, once I got the guns only spent about 12 bucks for the rest of the parts. And unlike the version that other guy made, these ones will still work. I'll keep you guys up to date on the project. Might do a lasgun too, not sure.

I was wondering, if Lucius the Cheating Cunt was killed but he killed his opponent as well, (guardsman with a melta bomb satchel charge for example) does that mean he can't be reincarnated anymore?

No, because he's a favorite of Slaanesh's champions, so it will either reincarnate him in the warp, or he will respawn (and there's actually a canon example of that happening) in the body of the person who made the satchel charge.

Killed by an Astartes Techpriest who McGuyvered the kit from scratch in person with only on-site tools they themselves made?

Going down the list to force the bluntest resurrection possible, such as having some callous asshole who doesn't take any note of who it is he's killed at all, or something that's big enough fish to be a serious investment for Slannesh in comparison to all the actual examples we have (Teturact the nearly-god Alpha Plus psyker of interstellar disease creation, for instance. He has feats well in excess of most Greater Daemons, so him committing to his own soul-buggery isn't remotely off the table).

There's also a possible mess of a situation with Commander Farsight doing the killing, given the sword he has. Kinda up in the air how a sword stealing Lucius' lifespan on killing him would interact with the situation. Also how that engram-battlesuit guy would work... Would it be one of the engineers, or would robot become Lucius?
