A sharpshooter can also be a position in a fireteam. As in the DMR.

Designated marksman rifle
Ah. So they get the good ones instead of the cheap crap provided by the lowest bidder who was probably cutting as many corners as they dare in a quest to add lots green pieces of paper with portraits of dead politicians on them to their pockets.

The rifles and stuff are not bad actually and not worthless. They work and get the job done

Even the lowest bidder has to meet a minimum quality standard.
That wgole aspect of the MIC is false. In some instances, yes, but others no.

The only reason military rifles and sidearms aren't absolute shit is because J. Random Bullet Sponge can afford the civilian version and would probably use that instead if they were.

No, because you can not bring a weapon besides your issued with you

You could bring your own stuff before. Fuck them for stopping that.
You havnt been able to for A LONG TIME.
It is because, should you go down, or die, your weapon can be cleaned and handed off instead of the process of sending it home.
And various other reasons, as caliber, etc etc

Which is a shame.

The 17th Indiana, 72nd Indiana, 98th Illinois, and 123rd Illinois got Spencers because John T. Wilder basically told Congress "we're getting Spencers". When he volunteered two cannons he comissioned came along for the ride.

Okay.
I want yall to realize something. They were requiring people to use the weapons issued since WW1.
Exceptions could be made for Sidearms, but not main weapon.
