Geneforge? The main faction are human supremacist wizards who grow living technology, magic crystals, and make armies of magic BOWs (Which are commonly in the forms of dinosaurs) who are called the Shapers. The Shapers hold disdain for outsiders and hold an effective monopoly on any market more advanced than basket weaving, have effectively infinite martial manpower, and rule all of the "known" world. You could spin the entire thing as a research colony that suffered terribly from the Dark Age of Technology. Heck the demons (which are powerful endgame enemies), are non-physical entities from another plane of existence that corrupt and consume as many as they can. The one weird thing that might be the most jarring is that some how Shapers from the past millennium before the games take place some how put a existential fear of their Order into every demon, to about half the level of what Sanguinius did to the Beast; the games never tell or show you what was done or even how it was done, only that it happened.Anyone got any suggestions on settings that would be compatible with the insanity of Warhammer 40k?
Edit: You could spin the Shapers as mostly stable gamma and delta level psykers who mostly spec into Biomancy and Telepathy.
Edit 2: The Shapers are hilariously enough militaristic environmentalist Hippies, who took over the world to stop people from using their research to create things that nearly wiped out humanity on that world several times over. Considering the second game, They consider purifying and terraforming a corrupted/cursed mountain range into a bountiful oasis lush with life and safe for human habitation and comfort to be a decade long project, with standardized procedures to do so.
