And they dint have enough states to support it.
We would more likely get a less broad 2A then that.

Then how does it go?
It depends.
It basically depends on a lot of aspects and is not easy to say.
Depends on state, on retification conventions, depends on if the convention can only be done limited scope to the reason it was called or not.

I don't think we actually have methods for such a convention. We do have methods of amending the constitution which requires 2/3 of all state legislatures to put forward and 3/4 to pass. This has been a long term goal of the republican party, to enact a series of amendments that limit the presidential powers and force a balanced budget, before the abortion issue they were close to having that 2/3, still are although now dems are gaining ground.

The only other way to amend is a supermajority in congress

I’m not sure about the Democrats having ground from abortion. If anything, polling seems to indicate it’s a non issue overall for most women.

I also have my doubts that the current Republican Party was serious about it beyond either a nice distraction or a way to cement the Neocons control of the party, if such a convention was ever to happen.

Whatever you want to blame it on, Republicans have lost ground at the state level in the last couple of years and control of state legislatures is the prerequisite to pass amendments without full control of congress.

they successfully used it to drum up support in 2022. it is not as big an issue now. For all that the guys here got strong opinions on it it is more polarizing of an issue for women. understandably so.

Not really.

It does for those who actually pay attention and venture outside of Leftist bubbles, as pointed out.

That said, abortion really wasn't the big issue the Dems made it out to be. As can be seen by looking at various polling done at the time. The failure of the GOP in the 2022 Midterm owes more to GOP (intentional on the part of the RINOs and Neo-Cons) self-sabotage.

Razorfist talks about it here:

Like I said, the reason is unimportant as we're discussing control of state legislatures. And the reps have 100% lost some of these where before they were only gaining.
