I think it's disingenuous because it's not the vulnerable LGBT people leaving.

If you have a successful enough career, enough education, and the linguistics skills to move to a more LGBT friendly country (Canada, Germany, Sweden, basically), then you weren't vulnerable in the US to begin with. You were upper middle class, college educated, and likely living in a solid blue state.
The ones leaving are in red states

You are probably correct. However, one of the criteria that group uses to select host countries is asylum laws, in which case they could theoretically show up with no language or other skills at all, and part of the group's function is supplying financial aid to enable people to buy tickets and such.

Even the article points out that a US citizen applying for asylum for trans issues would be nigh impossible.

They also have a rude awakening waiting when they realize how hard it is to adjust as an American immigrant in a vastly different culture, climate, and economy, and on how it's not a question or whether or not they'll be able to avoid getting fucked by the IRS, but a question of how hard and long they'll be fucked.

The tax code isn't nice to Americans living abroad.

Well, the American tax system/IRS is a nightmarish joke to Americans living at home -- being abroad just makes things more insane.

I can't stand how detached from reality these people are, economy is basically a circus act, there's a war going on in eastern Europe, demographics globally are all fucked up, and the world's largest superpower might've had an illegitimate election blitz past everyone without anyone doing anything about it.

And their focus? Children aren't getting their dicks snipped off and 50+ year old men aren't being treated like 20 year old supermodels.
Their solution? Moving to Europe, a continent known for becoming rapidly more sharia-law based lmao.

Because, till about the Obama era, Europe was considered "far more liberal and enlightened than the US". That message was sent for the majority of their lives. The idea that anything could change, especially under the EU? Unthinkable.

Italy especially doesn't deserve more cosmopolitan degeneracy.

In Iceland, which is a small, woke shithole.
I think it's total population is lower than that of the average Bulgarian town.

Let them try and move anywhere east of the German border and then watch them run away from us Eastern Yurupean muhsoggyknee istaphobe savages. :D

It's also been really isolated from most of the problems that brings, till now. Hard for Muslims to get there, not enough money to waste on over-the-top social programs after 2008, etc. You start getting a bunch of weirdos treating it like the holy land and they will reach the critical point faster than most, because of that small population. In Germany it was about 10% of the overall population being immigrants when they started to flinch and even Merkel admitted it had been a mistake.
