How do you "know" puberty can cure the condition? I fully went through my first puberty because I was repressing hard, didn't help.

He knows based on the article cited, and he said "can", not "will".

Though it would be more accurate to say he suspects rather than knows, given the subject matter is so poorly understood.

Exactly; this points to the need for some serious research into the conditions (note plural) in an effort to find out what is really going on. By the way, I didn't get a chance to say this earlier, but may I wish you a happy, healthy and prosperous 'Life 2.0.'

That conflates correlation and causation. A more parsimonious assumption is that people who had ideation which ended at puberty did not have any structural brain differences.
Quite right. What we see here is people jumping to conclusions because they are convenient.

Of course, the morality of imposing treatment on the mind to force it to conform with the body is exactly a leftist, modernist totalitarianism.
Which, of course is splendidly ironic given the political orientation of most of the activists in this arena.

Honestly I find the whole thing weird... like, do what you want, and if it helps that's good.

But also can some people stop insisting that the LG of LGBT doesn't exist because they're actually all T?

For that matter it'd be nice if there was some more oversight on this stuff so stories like that kid who's mom insisted he was trans despite him behaving like a boy when with his father didn't happen.

Like, can we get some more neutral oversight and a bit less "fad" in this?

I agree with everything you wrote in this post, it’s all very reasonable.

Can you give me something to read about this? Most trans people I meet are trans women and either pansexual or lesbians.

Also, some LGBT are more complex such that simply saying "Lesbian", "Gay", or "Bi" is not so simple. For an example myself: Pansexual Polyamorous Homoromantic Gynephillic Relationship Anarchist. Meaning I'm sexually attracted to all genders (Pan) but especially feminine presenting members of all genders (gynephile) but not capable of forming romantic relationships with men so I'm functionally a lesbian when it comes to who I love, generally I have two or more long term partners who are also mutual partners (poly), and I don't conform to societal determinations that say sex is something you don't do with "just friends" if we're both looking for some relief or just bored.

As an aside, I hate the acronym of LGBTQIA+, it's too complex and I've heard people unironically say the A stands for "Allies", we have a better term from academia of "Gendersex Minority".

that's a pretty complex label itself. Wouldn't just going by "General Tranny" be easier?

(This is just a joke - she's said she liked or was amused by the term before)

Hello! This is your friendly neighborhood Boot! First of all. The Boot would like to show off the Boots new brand of boot polish! Guaranteed to be 110% shinier than ordinary boot polish! Second, the Boot is still watching and would like to remind everybody, no matter their position or beliefs, that the Boot enjoys watching civil debate, where issues and ideas are discussed, not the posters. Please do not force the Boot to actually do any actual work by violating the civility rules (found Here for those who need a reminder).

This is the Boot, signing off and reminding everybody that admiring the Boot's polish is always welcome, touching the Boot and thus smudging the shine is not, and making the Boot actually have to get dirty and do work is strongly discouraged.

Wait....you hate the term "LGBTQIA+" because it's too complex, but "I sexually identify as a Pansexual Polyamorous Homoromantic Gynephillic Relationship Anarchist" is fine? How does that work, exactly?
Because there's utility in a catchall term that is lost due to the complexity LGBTQIA+ imposes. Whereas on the other hand sexuality and romance are very complex so for individuals more specification is necessary to understand the totality.

This does pose a problem in casual conversations so I just use "Queer".

Okay do you understand the contextual difference of a trans person self-referentially adopting "Tranny" or a queer person irreverently adopting "Faggot" (example) and you throwing it at us? While I'm okay with trans people calling me "General Tranny" or such, if you could refrain from hurling slurs at me like you did I'd appreciate it.

No problem, I will respect your request in the future.

In the study that found that a majority of people with Gender Dysphoria end up recovering from their condition on their own, it mentioned that the recovery typically happened around the end of puberty (18-25yrs old). Occams razor suggests that it was puberty which caused the Dysphoria to end.

Reference on Incidence and Prevalence of Transsexualism

This study is extremely interesting as it is rather indelicate—the author is clearly not being politically correct even considering it’s the 90s—but at the same time concludes on a primary neurobiological cause based on first principles from the statistical findings and argues for a “secondary transsexualism” that we can easily identify as the modern transgenderist movement.

The European Society for Endocrinology has a new web address. See second of those two links

So that's a yes on differences in brain structure before puberty with the cavot that they mainly just know they are there in a small sample size but don't actually have all that much information on what said information actually means.

I don't get it, it read like a normal scientific article to me, what was so offensive about him?

The language phrasing would make a lot of activists very upset.

I'll just have to avoid them then because even after a reread I still can't see it. I feel that the paper was excellent, informative, impartial, and well written, and I would probably be dumb enough to say that to their face.

Oh, you’re absolutely right about the paper. It’s solely in the gendered terminology that’s used. To be honest, it would be offensive... But it’s also an old scientific paper. If I got offended by the terminology in old scientific papers I would both be more ignorant and unable to use them to support my argument. And I detest the daily “five minute hate” attitude anyway.

So you're bisexual with a preference towards female then.
Nah I'm also attracted to non-binaries.
