I'm inclined to agree. The CPC would have to really impress me if they want my vote back (and I suspect a lot of their base feels the same way, hence why O'Toole's goose is cooked atm) and putting a proven actual conservative like Poilievre in would just be the start of that process, not its conclusion. They're out of their mind if they think that that alone would be enough to recover their credibility after the past near-decade of acting like Liberals with blue ties on and rubber-stamping everything Trudeau did even after he was knocked down to a minority.
That said, speaking of the process of recovering actual Tory credentials: O'Toole is officially done by a margin of 73-45 (only 60 votes out of the 119 Tory MPs were needed to depose him). So happily, it does appear as though a majority of the Conservative caucus haven't gone completely insane just yet. Next they'll be selecting an interim leader ASAP, followed by a proper leadership convention in a few months' time most likely. With any luck, this'll be the first concrete step in the Tories' journey of a thousand miles (or kilometers, rather) back to the right.
Edit: Here's an article on the most likely contenders to succeed O'Toole. Of these, I consider only Poilievre & Leslyn Lewis (the social conservative standard-bearer from the previous leadership convention and someone who, unlike O'Toole, refuses to blacklist Rebel News just like Trudeau did) to be worth a damn.

This is where the real revolution may begin; will the Canadian military act against thier own countrymen on orders of third paymasters, or will the Canadian military refuse to get involved, or perhaps even side with the truckers/farmers/tow companies.
If the military is used on a peaceful protest (and not a 'mostly peaceful' one of 2020) then shit will probably hit the fan, as they are not police. They can only really use lethal force, and that would be basically authoritarian in the extreme.

Our current GG is nothing but a Liberal figurehead, who was put in place after Payette's position became untenable with her literal abuse of her staff.

i find it funny that the lefts response to the workers uniting and standing up to the rich and powerful is "you can't do this to us!"
You have to keep in mind one very important thing about the Canadian milatary.
Its been left to rot and decay for decades now, airforce, navy, army none of it is at the level it was during the cold war. In all honesty in its current condition I don't think it would be capable of putting down a popular revolt even if they wanted to, because we are talking about a force that has been cut to the bone for decades now.
I honestly do not think their capable of winning a civil war.

And dear god we are pricks to them and expecially our vets. So actually fighting against your country men with little in the ways of resources and pretty shit pay?
Yeah that's a pretty high desertion rate, and if the enemy side offers these guys a better deal and that is not hard to do..it gets worse.

Some of the comments ive seen on reddit are truly telling of the left they are calling all the protesters things like "A bunch of dumb hicks" or "Do as you are told and get the jab" the levels of contempt and bootlicking are amazing.
