Baby Yoda is the cash cow. Dinn and Baby Yoda are a packaged deal. Dinn and Bo are becoming a team. And they will be having adventures together. Also Pedro Pascal has been busy all last year and most of this year. He himself said he missed some shooting this season with his other projects. Did those channels mention that. Because Star Wars Theory, Star Wars Meg. Thor Skywalker all did mention that months ago.

Yes other sources have mentioned it. And I'm very happy for Pedro that his career has really hit its stride. But it had been 2 years since we had Mando Season 2 and we all know what happened to Gina. And while I don't mind Bo Katan, its clear that the Mandalorian was always supposed to be Din.

I think calling Bo Katan the star of the show is a bit premature. She's been a costar for a few episodes and buddy cop for Din half the time as the lesser partner. Like even in this episode Din was the one who talked with the Ugnaughts and they seemed to split on everything else with Bo Katan only getting her moment at the end.

Din Djarin only has to be the Star of this Show as it's prime player as opposed to the Leader of the Mandalorians. So I'd wait and see.

What seems completely clear to me is that Disney completely changed their plans following Season Two of the Mandalorian.

Someone(s) wanted Grogu back so instead of him going to train with Luke Skywalker off screen and off The Mandalorian, they spent a third of The Book of Boba Fett bringing Grogu back to the Mandalorian instead of focusing on Boba Fett, helping negatively impact that series.

Now we have the Din & Grogu show where Grogu is hopping over rival foundlings, he's being knighted by Queen Lizzo for not doing anything the entire episode, we have a whole episode focused on the Andor demographic, and several episodes of adventure filler involving space pterosaurs, Mandalorian Quaggoths, and Spinach the Hutt where the only things of consequence that occur is at the beginning and end of the episode.

The level of planning for his series I feel rivals the Sequel Trilogy. Oh Cute Grogu stuff is popular! Oh people liked Bo Katan! Oh people like the Big Mandalorian guy! Oh people like Andor style episodes! Oh people like Lizzo... Or something...

Using this season to help set up Bo's own show is most likely what they are doing.
Din no longer has the dark Saber, but Gideon doesn't know that.
So it gives reason for him to be chased down by him and Bo to help at the end.

That is what I am guessing is happening.

@Spartan303 unless there are more videos that don't use that video as a source I find it sus

I watched the Boba stuff, and wasn't too impressed, over all. But, a quarter of the whole series without even a single appearance of the Boba, or indeed any of his cast? Stuff that really belongs in The Mandalorian?

That was just dumb.

Nah, the Big Wigs haven't quite noticed, and those who are wondering are not remotely plugged into fan circles.

So, when she lies in a desperate attempt to keep her job, they don't understand what 's really going on.

Nah, not detached, exactly. They're the kinda person who's got a MBA, and is relentless in their ambition to reach the top.

They're not geeks, don't get geeks, don't even like geeks, and look for somebody to deal with all the geek stuff for them, so they can focus on what's important. Their own advancement.

And, while they're not looking, somebody could well burn down the basis of the company.

So…people completely unfit for the thrones they want?

I’ve always found that a great irony of history. Those very competent at acquiring power tend to be shit at wielding it.

They forget that the Emperor's throne comes with the Emperor's desk.

Well I will say one thing. The way Disney, Paramount, Facebook, Twitter and Google have been running things. Has done one good thing for all of us. It has killed the idea of having the private sector run everything in many rank and file conservatives. Because. We get a real good hard look at what an unchecked private sector will do. They will collude and they will try to push their agenda on the public.

Now as to the two remaining episodes. I predict Moff Gideon will show up with a fleet to attack the Mandelorians. Bo and her fleet along with a few fighters from the New Republic will drive him back only for a larger fleet to show up and cause the heroes to withdraw. Moff Gideon will set up shop in the Mandalore system. Then roll credits.

Kind of like Tron Uprising when Clu arrives with his fleet?

That was a...wild episode, and well, the finale is looking to be really amazing, and sort of a reverse of Book 2's finale.

RIP Paz Visla, you went out like a badass, and a worthy end for one of House Visla.

I think it was a lil forced how the dude 'held them off' by killing them all, dude could've just ran away with the rest of them...I liked the character too so it's kinda sad he's gone.

I had that thought too for a sec, and I don't think Paz expected the Praetorian's to be there; he had the regular troops beat, and might have been able to retreat then so his decision wasn't directly suicidal, but that was before the red boys showed up.

However I also realized that if Paz tried to retreat, it's mean a running battle in the tunnels as they attempt to find a way to stop the attack on the fleet, which means a slower fight if nothing else.

Paz's son was safe back on Navarro, but if the Imperials took out the Mando fleet, that could and would likely change very fast and without warning. So Paz bought the time that might make the difference.

Also, really neat seeing Pelleaon in live action as Gideon's equal, Disney picked a very suitable actor for the role and didn't disrespect him or Gideon in the exchange.

This might be the first actually good episode of The Mandalorian this season. Though it's still pretty deeply flawed at least it focused on these Mandalorian people doing Mandalorian things.

I winced when I saw Katy O'Brien, Imperial officer lady showing up at the beginning, fearing another Andor/Rogue One episode but she was just talking to Moff Gideon so whatever.

With that said I wasn't enthused about Moff Gideon. I don't think he's a good villain and in the far better Seasons One and Two, he never struck me as particularly competent or anything. I liked the presentation or reveal of the Shadow Council of Imperial Warlords and it's nice to know Pellaeon is still around and wasn't killed offscreen by space whales in the climax of Rebels. Disappointed however no one brought up how utterly filled with fail Moff Gideon is but it's fine, all on the same team and everything. Him being surprised that Spinach the Hutt and his band of pirates failed certainly didn't elevate my opinion of the Moff though.

I have no real complaints with the rest of the episode. I was almost annoyed that it looked like Nevarro had a problem with security when a giant Imperial Cruiser showed up and I was fearful that Karga was far too stupid to rule Nevarro after neutering its defenses almost as effective as Queen Lizzo did. But it was the Mandalorians showing up so that was averted.

IG-12 is adorable and great for kids but I found it to be eyerolling in the extreme. Grogu breaking up the two Mandalorians fighting was nice but I'm a bit worried that after like ten thousand years Mandalorians don't have a formalized form of dueling for grievances they can settle upon beyond SUBMIT OR DIE at a moments notice.

Most of my problems came towards the end of the episode. So not only did Moff Gideon get his forces seemingly wiped out at the end of Season Two to the point he could've died, and all of his Darktroopers were destroyed by Luke Skywalker, but apparently that was all just a minor setback. He is so smart he had contingencies in place not only to escape (since he apparently lucked out having infiltrated the New Republic with a POW who enmeshed herself into high levels of Republic leadership in a few weeks/months.

But also Moff Gideon had a whole different secret base on Mandalore the whole time. This base existed in complete secrecy I guess since the Fall of Mandalore and was filled with highly trained Imperial Jet Troopers or whatever they're going to be called who are almost as good as Mandalorians are in combat, and are completely covered in beskar armor, and they have a fully operational base with berths for dozens of elite troops and starfighters and everything and it was located in almost the same place as the Great Forge and despite living on the planet surface ever since the destruction the Nite Owls never had an inkling of an Imperial Presence there. I'm assuming the Imperials never encountered the Mandalorian Quaggoths or knockoff General Grievous or the giant f'ing monster that apparently lairs nearby which (as an aside) almost conveniently almost wiped out the Nite Owls entire group one day after reuniting with the Mandalorians.

Other then that, Moff Gideon has been setup as an excellent nemesis in my opinion. *coughs*

Next time Paz, just close the blast door in front of you, not behind you.

Or ya know, use your jetpack to escape

Rockets... Grenades... Thermal Detonators... Whistling Death... I dunno. That goes for everyone else as well.

Despite all of this, and a lot of it is nitpicky, pretty decent episode, especially for this season.

I think most of my issues in regards to this episode reinforce my feeling that The Mandalorian was rewritten post-Season Two. Grogu was never intended to be a major character after that S2 finale and most of this season is just filler. The Mandalorian is supposed to be what we're seeing in this episode finally, Din Djarin being a big player in helping reunite the Mandalorians but they're still tripping over themselves in trying to find appropriate adversaries and big bads.
