Krayt dragons are in the novelization of ANH, so they've been core canon since the beginning

Doesn't Obi-Wan mentions something, after he drives away the Tusken Raiders from Luke in ANH, about the cry of a Krayt Dragon(i.e., the cry he mimicked to make them go away), or is this something from the ANH novelization only?

He does the vocalization in the movie, but doesn't explain what it is; he only says that the Sand People are easily startled but will soon be back in greater numbers.

I'll theorize here, it is because they realize that they were tricked and are going to be rather livid? And the whole tribe is going to be livid?

They don't necessarily have to realize they were tricked to come back; they'd come back in greater numbers to track down the dragon, because they need to plan their travel routes around avoiding it if it's a Greater Krayt, or they can organize a hunt if it's a regular Krayt.

It'd be somthing if Ben did that call, the sand people came back and found that cave. If that be the case, they would have been none the wiser.

I can see what you're getting at, but I think that would be moving back in the direction of the old EU's greatest flaw, making the universe painfully small by constantly tying everything back to the same handful of "important" characters.

More of a comedic aside but during the whole faux 'boob armor controversy' highly regarded pop culture critic Anita Sarkeesian decided to share her opinion on things.

She got ratio'd into oblivion but fearlessly doubled down, decrying her critics regardless of gender or basis in reality before inevitably succumbing to Victimhood. Much comedy and amusement was derived at her floundering expense.

Ahsoka looks amazing in live action, and she's hunting Grand Admiral Thrawn. This is *the* first reference we've had to him still being alive in the new canon, substantially after his death in the old EU timeline.

The actress that played Ashoka sounded and looked like an Ashoka that is definitely older. Honestly, I was a little worried but they picked a great actress to play her. She looks and acts the part. We can see a clear connection to how she acts in Rebels to here, given that Filoni did direct this episode, it should have been obvious. Searching for Thrawn, perhaps he is still alive? Perhaps we will meet Ezra as well? Maybe Thrawn and Gideon are working together? All good questions. I do feel like we will have Ashoka, Bo, and Gideon on in one place at the same time, Tython, maybe somewhere else, where a battle commences the remnants of Mandalore, Ashoka, and whoever else they find to help against Gideon and his troops. Perhaps claiming the dark saber once and for all

Swept away like it never even happened... Like the Starbucks cup in Game of Thrones, original artwork in Star Wars comics, the EU in Star Wars proper and Marvel on Netflix.

I don't care I still want my Admiral Jeans Guy action figure!!! :D

I know I'm beating a dead horse here and i've already talked about this to great length, but why are we treating the force like it's primarily a positive thing. Ahsoka refuses to train Gorgu because he's naturally gotten attached to the mandalorian over the course of the adventure. "I've seen what such emotions do to the best of us. Better to let his powers fade." she LITTERALLY says it's better to not have force powers, which again makes me question why the greater galaxy at large doesn't view force powers as a threat. Let's take meta coolness of jedi out of this and apply it to a generic standard universe.

The following Entry was writtin by Dr. Lucas Spielberg chief medical officer of the capital of the republic

"My higher ups have brought to me a case which I have steadily observed over the past ten months. The young boy about 9 years of age seems to have a condition of unknown origins. It's significance and ramifications I can not begin to fathom and I leave to the philosophers and politicians. I can only gather the hard facts of the boys condition after a year of study this is what I have gathered

. the boy can for lack of a better explanation see things before they happen. As a result he has faster he has faster reflexes and increased spacial and emotional awareness. He can sense things from miles away and he can read peoples thoughts and emotions and to a certain extent feel them. his condition also seems to give him extensive telepathic abilities allowing him to move objects and even people at minute levels. (My staff reports witnessing him making a model ship fly as if it were a real thing.)

.The condition seems to be caused by the presence of unknown microscopic life forms in the boys body. The full nature of these organisms is unknown, possibly parasitic or symbiotic in nature. Limited research indicates that they live mainly within the host red blood cells and can be found with a standard blood sample.

While the boy does seem to posses extraordinary power he also seems to exhibit extraordinary side effects, the boy develops bouts of severe anxiety often resulted from feeling the anxiety of others, he's plagued by night terrors the subject often which involve visions of the future, which mostly involve people dying. The boy also seems to suffer severe emotional mood swings often which turn extremely violent and even potentially homicidal. The only known way to stop this is intense therapy with the goal of dampening all extreme emotional tendencies primary fear, anger and attachment.

While The boy is the primary subject, there have been increased reports of people and children having this same condition and exhibiting the exact same effects and symptoms. Extreme caution and vigilance is strongly advised."

yeah if the force and Midi-chlorians existed in any other universe, the government would eaither

A. Send out it's best Doctors and scientist to find a way to neutralize the Midi-chlorians or at least dampen their effects.
B. Send out their best space mariane to find the source of the force and kill/destroy it ala doom or halo
C. Find away to abduct and weaponize force users ala stranger things and covering up all knowledge of the force's existence
and would quickly resort to choice A & B once it became inevitable that the risk far outweighed the benefits.

If the force truly made people that unstable, there is no way the galaxy would trust an order of force using space monks period, le alone trust them with the security of democracy at large, especially considering that it's force users that cause most galaxy scale conflicts. Hate to pull a kreia but the galaxy really does seem better off overall without the force.

The new episode definitely moves us far towards the season climax, with some lovely moments for those of us who are technically inclined Star Wars geeks.

1. Dark Troopers seen in action, and explicitly referred to as Dark Troopers. The heads look much more like Phase 2 as opposed to the Phase 1 like design seen just one episode prior; it's possible that they're modular in some way, with a helmet fitting over the inner droid head.

2. I don't think anyone thought otherwise given how blatantly it was telegraphed, but yep, the bald dude with the gnarly acid burns is indeed Boba Fett. He's got Slave One back, and now he's got his signature armor back too. And he's terrifyingly kick-ass with or without it.

2a. Oh, and explicit retroactive confirmation that, yes, that was Boba Fett whose feet we saw last season.

3. It looks like Din's previous interaction with Bo-Katan and the Nite Owls has softened his attitude about true Mandalorians a little bit; while he initially takes a hard line, he ultimately doesn't contest Boba Fett taking back his armor even though he doesn't follow the Creed or cover his head.

4. Hard confirmation that the old EU canon "fifteen minute setup" for E-Webs is bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. They got that thing online in seconds.

5. We see a new model of Imperial infantry dropship, which appears to be visually based on both the TIE Reaper seen in Rogue One and the later First Order dropships from the sequel trilogy. It's a completely sensible addition to canon; the Reaper was clearly an atmospheric-oriented model like the TIE Strikers that accompanied it, whereas this is a "regular" space-to-surface dropship.

6. A pretty solid refutation of "turbolasers are puny", with a single well-placed medium turbolaser shot from Moff Gideon's Arquitens class light cruiser reducing Din's poor Razor Crest into a small crater and assorted scrap. Given that we've seen how extremely durable the Razor Crest was to physical impacts and thermal heating, this proves turbolasers very, very deadly indeed, and also strongly confirms that for midsize ships, most of their defense against heavy weapons fire is in their shields. As opposed to the tissue-paper shields that snubfighters have.

7. Moff Gideon is really blatant on the wannabe Vaderness.

Overall, I really love how Mandalorian makes intelligent use of existing Star Wars vehicles and equipment, as opposed to making up new things for everything, while also having little shout-outs for old school fans like the "older model" Imperial Troop Transport seen in both the Season 1 finale and in the previous Season 2 episode being a reversion to the original Kenner toy version as opposed to the model seen in Rebels.

(The version in Season 2 appears to be an IFV variant versus the base APC version, with the side troop blisters replaced by gun sponsons.)

I personally never thought I'd enjoy watching Stormtroopers get their cheeks clapped with didgeridoo death music playing in the background. I was badly wrong. It's so fucking good to have Boba back, not only with his armour but seemingly directly ported from Legends honour code. No one's going to say he's overrated now.
